cj pany parts

So id like to share my experience with cj pony parts.. I apologise in advance for the length of this msg, plz be patient. Im curious to see if other members have gone through the same headache. Anywho, i was shoping around for a new o/r x pipe. i was interested in pypes o/r xpipe that american musce had for sale but unfortunatly it was out of stock.. Checked lethalperformance, late model restoration.. Also out of stock.. I look up cj pony parts and they have a upr O/r x pipe.. I read some reviews, see some youtube vids and decide to pull the trigger.. So i purchase the pipe and only after i purchased it i get a msg from cj pony parts that the pipe is on backorder.. I call them and a rep says they usually ship out in 5-7 days.. A week goes by still no email saying its been shipped.. So i email customer service at cj pony parts.. Dont get any responses.. So i Call them again, another rep tells me itll be shipped sometime early next week. Another week passes and nothing. If i knew cj pony parts never had the item i wouldnt of purchased it.. Am tells u in red letters before u buy "out of stock" dont know why cj pony cant do the same.. Anywho thank u for your patience with taking the time to read this. Was just wondering if they are known for this or what

Thanks

I can see why you would be frustrated. I have never ordered from them or any of the companies yet as I am stock but, I am glad you let us know, that way we can call ahead and make sure it is in stock.

LMR is typically 5-10 dollars cheaper than AM. Just sayin.

Cj is way over priced in my op. I usually order from am, or lmr but lmr doesent have free shipping on every single item like am does. iirc I payed shipping for something from lmr last year. Also I live close to am so whenever I order something it's usually here in a day or so even with standard free shipping. Just my 2 cents.

Iv had this problem Numerous times with them. It is rather annoying but they have free shipping and for classic car parts they have good prices

I think the OP username says it all, "you owe me".

In all seriousness, you should have called and inquired before purchasing. A lot of this comes from age and experience, but every business cannot afford to stock every part 100% of the time, many times depending on drop shipments directly from the vendors. If the reseller is out of stock on a commonly stocked item, this is usually a good indication the part might be back-ordered.

As for CJ Pony Parts not keeping their live inventory posted on the web, you obviously don't comprehend just how much work goes into websites/systems that provide that sort of data. It is expensive and requires more expense overhead that many companies don't have. Companies like American Muscle, Summit Racing, Tire Rack, and Late Model Restoration, sell a crap load of stuff on the internet and have been in business for enough years to have invested in computerizing all their systems.

OP, you could have avoided all this angst by simply calling before ordering, and then secondly, cancelling your order 1-week in once you new you were growing impatient.

I cant comment on whether its expensive or not, dont have that knowledge but i can imagine you loose business like that. A lesson learnt, i will call ahead now to see if the part is available. Never had this problem with other shops. And the fact that they dont have the actual part doesnt bother me as much as not returning my email.. Or me calling a couple times and them "making up" dates on when its gonna be shipped

cj pany parts

I'm going through the same BS with CJ as we speak. I'm waiting on koni str.t 05-10 shocks. I ordered them because on the site there was no notification of back order. And every other site states when parts are on back order. EVERYWHERE is sold out I'm seeing, but still I haven't but a email confirmation that the bastards have my money and I have no shocks. There must be like a national shortage of koni str.t shocks....

There is a national back-order on those. Koni does this every year or two and puts certain shocks on sale to clear out the inventory, and for the popular cars/part#'s, they usually clear out the stock. Strangely the rear shocks is what was on back-order last year as well.

Yeah I figured as much. I have my entire set up in minus the shocks. Incidentally those are the easiest part of the install lol.

Never ordered from cj pony parts because their site is not very user friendly. AM'S site is just so much easier to navigate.. for me at least.

I had the same "provlem" with Cj. I ordered a shorty antenna and needed that little bezel tool to remove the old antenna and secure the new one. Antenna shipped quickly but the bezel said will drop ship from manufacturer or something to that effect. Needless to say I had the antenna and couldn't install it because of the month delay with the bezel tool. They ran a sale a few weeks after I ordered the bezel so they worked with me and allowed me to take the 10% discount on the bezel tool. So I guess it worked out in the end.

If it was a part I really wanted to put on right away I would have been a bit annoyed but it was a damn antenna so I didn't get to bent out of shape.

Yes but some people are more average than your average person while others are less average than the average of all average people. I consider myself quite an average joe with moments of brilliance in an otherwise average kinda day.

I haven't had a problem with CJ yet, everything I have ordered has been in stock though. It shipped quick and was the best price at the time plus got points back that purchased other stuff with that was same or better than other. Had an issue with a shorty antenna, they contacted the manufacturer..sent me a replacement quick, free tshirt, and removal tool!
