Roush AB do they get louder over time?

Bought my GT with 8000 miles. Previous owner had already installed Roush AB. Absolutely love the sound. Now have 25k miles. They seem louder and more pops during deceleration. Is it my imagination or do they get louder over time? I know there's nothing inside to burn out like the glass packs we used to use.

Most companies such as borla and magna-flow claim there is a break in period for their mufflers (6-800 miles) where the sound should get slightly deeper and louder over that period.

The roush mufflers most definitely get louder over time as the fiberglass insulation breaks in/down. I've also noticed they're much raspier when they're cold or wet. Not a good sound until they warm up.

Thanks. So it's not my imagination. Don't get me wrong.....I still love the sound especially during deceleration. I usually blip the throttle a bit while downshifting just for a little more popping. And I am old....55. Which my wife continually reminds me of that fact when riding with me in the Mustang.

If I had a wife and she tried to remind that I was old... I would just lovingly remind her that when I first met her she was 9 yrs younger than me and last I checked she's still 9 yrs younger. Now do you really really wanna tell me I'm getting old?

The quip kinda loses its potency a bit the bigger the age gap lol
