GT 2013 Tranny Swap from MT to AT?

I purchased my GT 2013 with 15k miles and the previous owner abused the tranny; 4th and 5th gear were damaged.

I repaired the tranny, all new synchro and replaced the plastic shoe selectors with metal shoe selectors, mounted a mgw shifter, braided clutch line and im using redline mt-85 or mt-90 oil (I cant recall)

Anyways, im not satisfy. I have a hard time putting it on 1st gear when I come to a complete stop, 5th gear is kind of hard... And I cant enjoy my car without worrying with something with the tranny.

I do have big hp plans and from what I've read automatic tranny with an upgraded converter is better for that?

Anyways how hard is a tranny swap??

Thanks you guys. Sorry for the testament...
Im just frustrated..

When you say big HP plans, are you plans to still street the car, or more towards Drag Racing?

Since you already have a manual car, I would recommend a Tremec T-56 Magnum XL. The entire transmission plus install kit is $3495 from D&D Performance.

If your plans for big HP include mostly drag racing, you're correct, the automatic is the way to go. I've not seen any write-ups on converting to an automatic on the 2011+ Mustangs, but it's pretty sad that Ford's decision to continue using the inferior MT82 6-speed manual is driving Mustang owners to purchase automatics, such as me.

My 2011 5.0 GT transmission lasted for just over 20k miles before needing replacement, and the brand new transmission they put in the car never was as good as the original. I traded that car in on an automatic.

As far as the swap it will be a precise process.
Best bet is to find a loaner car.
