Rough idle on cold start

I recently installed an aFe CAI on my 14 Gt. On a cold start it idles roughly for 6 or 7 seconds before leveling out. This only happens on a cold start. The cai doesn't require a tune. Does the PCM just need time to adjust?

Thanks for the help!

I've disconnected the battery and let it run for some time and I still have the issue. Makes me want to ship it back to them...

Wouldn't think a non tune required CAI would affect the idle. What makes me curious is if there was an intake issue why would it do it for only a few seconds. It's not uncommon for a bit of a rough idle when a new tune is uploaded as the car relearns it. I'd probably double check all connections and call the manufacturer.

My 2014 5.0 sounds cammed whenever I start it cold, for about 15 seconds and the only mod is Mac axle backs.

May try some mass air flow cleaner just in case I got it dirty during install.

This is why you stick with the stock "true" CAI. You wasted money for no gains and have caused yourself a headache now.

It's carburetor ice. Pull the air recirculation cable on the dash, just above the flap handle.

Compstall, thanks for your response. Could you elaborate for me? I'm not familiar where this is. Thanks!

Comp that was mean but I was LMAO funny stuff there.

On a serious note if you bought the AFE Stage 2 Pro 5R it is not a stock replacement it is a tune required CAI so your airflow has changed and your car will need a tune. A CAI is not beneficial unless you are doing mods that enhance its potential. For instance a Roush CAI that does not require a tune is of no benefit other than the look when you open the hood, CAI's that require a tune will give you gains but much better used in conjunction with long tube headders and high flow cats or offroad setups. And there will be many opinions I was just passing on the basic information there are allot of combinations and options out there.
