2014 Transmission Issues.

Has anyone else had issues with this 2013/2014 GTs? I have a 2014 GT 6 speed with about 4100 miles on it and as of lately 5th gear has been clunky and difficult to shift into. Down shifting from 6th to 5th is fine but the upshift is a nightmare. I read the MT-82s had some very similar issues in 2011 but supposedly Ford fixed them? Anyone else having issues?

Actually, he said it four times, if you count the title. You are hearby ordered to buy a shifter bracket of your choice and install it. I recommend Steeda but its hard to go wrong with any recognised brand name here.

I've never had an issue with shifting into 5th gear. I did have in issue with getting locked out of 3rd gear when shifting at high RPM's but I solved that with installing an MGW shifter because the stock one is kind of sucky... I have a 13' GT with about 14,000 miles now.

Well the quality may have improved slightly and some problems rectified, "fixed" is not a term I would use to characterize the MT82 at any point yet.

Most people with shifting problems address it with either a Barton Shifter Bracket, retaining the stock shifter, or a complete MGW shifter. The bracket is less than $70.00, while the shifter is $385.00.

I know you're probably not too happy about your 4,000 mile brand new car needing aftermarket parts to cure a weakness from the factory, but Mustangs have had weakness in shift assemblies since the dawn of man. The "good" is that there is a solution to correct the symptoms you're experiencing.

I just went with a McLeod clutch, now shifting is so smooth no matter the rpm's,also petal is so light,don't mind traffic as much.
