I tried a BAMA and Steeda Tune on my 2012 Mustang GT with Auto trans, didn't like them.

On my 2014 GT with Auto, I recently installed the Ford Racing Performance Tune with GT500 axlebacks, and am liking it quite a bit. Shifting is only slightly firmer at full throttle, and the increase in low rpm torque, plus smoothness of power delivery is very nice.

There is no tune that will gain a great deal of peak horsepower. Most of the gains are torque under the curve. If you're looking for a great amount of peak horsepower gains, you will need more than a Tune alone.

I think you'd really enjoy a Bama Custom Tune! A Bama tuning specialist told you that it would be bad on your transmission? That is absolutely not the case. A Custom tune will actually be better on your Transmission than the stock settings. The quicker and firmer shifts will cause less friction and that is really beneficial.

Besides that, you'll notice huge gains in power, torque, acceleration, driveability, gas mileage and much more! Feel free to hit the Bama team up directly with any questions you may have. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

I know the tune itself won't give HP what I meant is what would help give peak performance for parts I heard ford performance was good, where could I order that tune?

With the Ford Racing tune, just pick your favorite Ford Racing Parts reseller to order. The Tuner by itself is M-9603-MGTB for $349, while the Tuner, K/N Filter, Oil Filter, and GT500 axlebacks are M-FR1-MGTB for $599. They will simply send you a box with a code that you register on the FordRacingParts.com website, along with the VIN and Computer code, and then they overnight the Tuner with the correct tune for your car.

I got mine from LateModelRestoration.com due to the fact that they are only an hour away from my house.

You'll definitely see great gains from a Custom Tune. However, like listed above a lot of the gains are in the torque department and under the curve power. Peak gains are never huge but the gains are still there!

Hope this helps.
