NX plate kit

I am looking into buy a NX plate kit and this will be my first experience with NOS on a car. I know I need a purge kit, bottle heater, window switch. But I have a few questions.

How do the window switch and full throttle control thing work together?
What are good rpms to engage and disengage the NOS.

Last what's else do I need or am I good. Need someone to school me on this easy performance.

First of all its nitrous not "nos"

Window switch is going to activate at a certain rpm and shut off at a certain rpm.

So you can be full throttle right off the line, but it will not start spraying until you get to say 3,000 rpms and stay until 7800.

A good rpm for a stock motor car is starting at 3,500 and shutting off around 200 rpms b4 redline.

You're the man I was hoping would respond. I have been reading some other threads you posted in. I know it's not nos but my phone was being dumb and auto correct nitrous to nitrogen.

So 3500 to 6700 or so is a good starting point? I use this along side the switch provided in the kit or instead of?

Also do I need anything besides the purge kit and bottle heater. One step colder plugs and tune?

Yes you will use the window switch with the full throttle switch.

Yes start at about 3,500 and spray to about 6800- if your redline is 7k.

And what fuel are you going to be using? How much you looking to spray?

You can start it at 3,000 if you want. ( I do ) It really depends on your tuner, most will have it at 3,300-3,500 for the initial hit.
Who is tuning the car?

my nitrous window switch is set to 7000, but 6700 is fine. you can get a switch panel that will have every switch you need (arm, purge, bottle heater, even bottle opener if you got one of those) instead of trying to deal with every singular switch the kit provides you. my panel is located in my centre console, hidden and out of the way. how big of a shot are you planning to run? you can go up to a 100 shot without changing your plugs but after that you will need colder plugs and you definitely need a tune. i would advise getting your car dyno tuned, you will get the most power out of you car that way.

I will be doing a 75 shot for now, may step to the 100 at some point but not anymore than that. I always run shell 93 gas that is right by my house. I have both a steeda and hypermotive tunes on my tuner. The hypermotive one seems a little better but will most likely have both of them write me a tune? You recommend some one else? Yes 7k red line.

I've seen those console switch things before. Where did you get yours? I haven't found one but I'm sure I am just scanning over it while looking.

Jason's tune from hypermotive will be a great one.
100 shot will be good, you will want more though.

You will love nitrous regardless,
I spray alot more than most people

OK good I really like his tune I have now. This may be a dumb question but if I do a roll race at say 4k rpm and slam it down that first full hit of nitrous at that rpm is OK? I know I'll want more but I don't want to hurt it and I don't race often so I hope a 75 shot will cure my problem.

Yes you will be perfectly fine, with the initial hit.

I ran a 200 without a progressive ( which softens the initial hit)
My new setup ( 3rd setup ) will be on a progressive.

OK good. So I guess with that low of hit I don't need a progressive I assume. What about step down to colder plugs? I see conflicting response about them and shots 100 and down.

I didn't swap my plugs till I was on a 150. So your stock plugs will be more than ok on a 75

No you won't need a progressive.

i got mine from american muscle, it is a nitrous outlet panel but it will work with a nitrous express kit with no issues. if you are a stickler for keeping everything from the same company you can just order one straight from the nitrous express website as well.

Awesome thanks guys. Any tips on the install besides patience? How did you route the wires onto the car and trunk? Gourmets?

I put mine under the door sill plates, and on the edge of the carpet against the car going into the trunk.

How did you go from under the hood to the car? Just lowered the seats to get into the trunk?

You'll need to use the rubber grommets in the wheel wells to pass the wiring and line from the engine compartment into the cabin. On my car, I ran the nitrous line through the driver's side grommet and the wiring through the passenger side grommet.

Passenger side grommet

Driver's side grommet

Just go through the sound tube hole. I did this on my single nozzle kit. My plate kit. And will be on my direct port.

Everything is hidden as far as wires. Here is my first setup with the single nozzle.

Here is picture back when the car was 100% stock and the day I installed the kit. As you can see wiring was a nest then all tucked away nicely.

These are some great ideas on where to run the wires and lines. I'll look into which was is easier tomorrow when I go to install. I've got ever I need except the window switch, haven't ordered one yet.

Do yourself a favor and figure out which window switch or progressive controller you intend to purchase and then look up the online instructions and prewire for it. Here are a few more wiring pics.

I don't think you need a progressive until you go over a 200. I did not run one at all.
I will with the 400 though. 200 and below your good

My window switch was mounted under my dash.

All my switches are on the piece of the dash under the steering wheel. All out of sight but easily accessible in a split secound.

Other than that only thing you can see inside is the gauges

Which window switch would you guys recommend?

So you have your stuff wired into the dash as opposed to Un the center console? I don't really want to drill holes in my dash but if that's better I guess I can.

Air fuel is in the air vent

Oil pressure is up top
Nitrous pressure is below that
