2014 Mustang GT track key

What does the track key Ford has for the 2014s exactly do? To my knowledge it adds a loop to the idle and a slight power gain on low end torque and some added HP... What else does it do? Or is that it? And if anyone here has done it is it worth it?

To list a few differences from stock...
Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing (TiVCT)
Engine braking
Ignition timing
Wide-Open Throttle fueling
Accelerator pedal map
Idle speed
Throttle response
Driver adjustable Launch Control, or "2-step engine speed limiting"
Driver adjustable Pit Lane Speed Control
Lopey idle
Improved engine performance- Up to 60lb-ft at 1500rpm & peak increases of 16 hp and 7 lb-ft on 93 octane
Also this...
"Throttle limiting and torque management and any daily drivability enhancements are removed", (meaning no traction control at all).

I had no plans of adding a turbo or supercharger, so I went with the track key a little over a month ago. A little pricey, but so are aftermarket tuners that could possibly jeopardize your warranty. They say, "not recommended for street use". Hmm... my commute to work is a lot more fun these days.

Lol. I was just curious. I know an aftermarket dyno tune will be leaps and bounds better.

Lol I'm not. I was worried as all hell with my previous vehicle (2011 Subaru WRX). Although it was professionally tuned, the pistons ringland's are known to **** the bed. Only real issues I've heard with the coyotes are the 7th or 8th cylinder going? I won't be tuning this year, I already dumped a few G's on suspension first. It'll be a brain-racker next year when I do decide to tune, where to go, what tuner, etc. I'm assuming SCT X4.

Actually the ring glands on the coyotes are the weak leak also. I busted them on piston 4 and 6 at 611 at the tires

Ahhhhh that's just great lol. However, ringland's would go at stock power level WRX's and STi's. 220-240ish to the wheels and above. A lot of it had to do with lean oem tunes, but also the pistons were just weak sauce. I sold mine in February this year, bought the stang, and heard from a friend the 20 year old who bought it blew it up. I teared up. 611 to the wheels is a lot. I'd expect oem equipment to go a lot sooner than that in any car. Crazy it held up for as long as it did. Bravo sir.

Lol honestly I'm a little weary of them but it'll probably be the route I go because I'm not just going to stock pile bolt ons and a blower and do a dyno tune all at once. You happen to read my suspension thread grabber? Reversing the mounts did give me some camber back, just took a hot minute to settle

I suppose I won't question you again

LOL it's okay to question me. You don't know me from a hole in the wall.

Glad the mounts worked out for you. When it comes time to do a tune I'll be more than happy to help yo if you have any questions.

Lol I know but you've been a big help since I purchased the car. Alignment shop still said I'd have a little inner tire wear but not bad. -1.25 camber. And yes most definitely with the tune. There are so many options. Seems like the general consensus is to stay the hell away from Bama.

Run away from Bama, far away, and when you think your far enough, still keep running.

Funny, whenever I say something negative about a particular tuner mentioned here I get threatening PM's from an administrator.

The thing is I am worried about the warranty because incase something goes wrong, do not want to have to pay full price for it, and if Ford does everything itself they cant void my warranty

Yes they can. Any aftermarket part will void warranty. The FR track key reduces PT warranty to the B2B length, and it is under FRPP, not Ford.
