New member seeking advice

Hello guys!

As you all see i recently registered an account. But i am a long time leecher. I am from Amman-Jordan.
Ive been in the market looking for a 2011 - 2012 Mustang GT (manual trans). But after reading loads of concerns/issues with the new 5.0 Coyote engines (ticking, Cylinder #7 and #8 wear) and some other transmission issues, ive been so worried!
would love to hear your opinion if i should really worry of getting a 5.0? Lately i was considering getting a 2010 4.6 3V V8 GT and slamming a SC on it to obtain the coyote power levels.*

I would really appreciate listening your honest opinion without being biased. Avoiding any engine issues (ticking, weird noises, etc...) is a must as our local market isnt tech savy oriented when it comes to Ford's/US imports.
Do you also recommend avoid buying a 2011 gt? As this was the first year production Coyote engine mustangs to avoid any issues?

Thanks in advance! looking forward to hear your opinions / suggestions.

Cheers Moto for your reply. Your suggesting that only transmission issues are to be expected and no engine issues?

Haven't heard much about the #8 issue and the ones I did read about all were tuned cars. Just have a reliable tuner bama or steeda vmp the list goes on. I think that was only the very early 2011 cars

I'm among the seemingly many with the ticking motor after an oil change. I'm not sure how common this issue really is but aside from that I love my 5.0, great sounding motor, solid power. Just overall great. And honestly, if the ticking is indeed a real issue sooner or later warranty work will get it fixed. (I'm currently in the process of having mine assessed) I know many guys with their 5.0 and no ticks at all. And I know some with ones that tick. Just luck of the draw.

My trans is a bit notchy (MT-82), but I've never owned a mustang that didn't have a little notch to its shifts.... So I don't mind it.

Best of luck dudley! Hope you'll get it sorted out with your dealer. May I ask what year/production date is your stang?

When does the ticking mostly be heard? Cold startup or when the car is fully warmed up?

It's a 2013 MY, and the tick is most prominent at operating temp from idle-2000rpm.
