You sure there 54 's? There site shows the base kit with 60mm turbine and 76mm compressor wheel.

I stand corrected. Idk why I thought it was a 54. It's a 60 dual ball bearing. Another + to the kit is their "base turbos" are dual BB which is nice.

How long would you think an install would take for a single
Turbo kit
Install. I have basic
Knowledge of things but my dad has done a lot with engines.

You are going to be without your car for a week regardless single or twin, even if you do it yourself or have a shop do it.

This is another reason we went the centri route. My son and I did it in our driveway on the weekend and we took our time.

Well that's fine. I have a truck too. So I could
Just keep it in the garage. Why does the turbo take
So much longer?

^^because it is a lot of work. Headers, intercooler, oil feed and return, AC & other lines that need to be rerouted just naming some of what has to be done, fuel system upgrade, could go on & on.
A centri is a belt driven turbo, a CPR/Hellion/Armageddon turbo is an exhaust driven turbo. Using a "waste" gas to supply power to your turbo is more efficient than a belt using energy FROM your motor, but in using exhaust gasses, it is more complicated, install is more time consuming and they have more varibles to deal with in tuning.

I wish it was just a week. My car with be ready next week from jpc after about 2.5 weeks. It's not my daily so I didn't car much just sucks being without it for so long. Twins are alot more in depth then a single turbo or twin screw.

I look forward to seeing your car done too. Going to be a great looking setup. I think the Armageddon kits are second to none in looks and quality.
Are you going to have everything wrapped and use blankets?

It should look killer. I went with the polished turbos and piping so it will really pop.

No I'm not wrapping anything. According to Armageddon nothing needs to be wrapped. If you see any of the guys running the kit none of them have anything wrapped.

Interesting to say the least... I will see if heat is an issue if it is I will wrap everything up if not I'll let it be.

I hate the look of the wraps and blankets. Wow, polished will def look better. Nothing looks better than a polished exhaust with some blueing from heat. It will probably look better over time.

So what supercharger do you guys recommend I go with. I plan on staying on an all stock motor for as long as I have the car and stock transmission just wanting around 500-550 to the wheels. I don't always drive the car hard just sometimes I get on it a few times. I'll never be at a track either.

Agree with the supercharger losing to nitrous. But the turbo is debatable since there are lots of characteristics that can come into play for it. A very efficient turbo can be in full boost before the nitrous even hits which can give them an advantage.

Terry does not make the Paxton kits. Paxton makes them. They are real good quality.

Seville,
We bought our Vortech kit from Team Beefcake Racing. I will say the guy is GREAT to deal with (Terry). I have called him many times about different things and he always answers the calls himself, and gives you a no bull no sales pitch opinion on what you want or need. He could have EASILY upsold me in the beginning. He saved ME a lot of $ by guiding me what to get for my needs instead of what I THOUGHT I needed to meet my goals. I was ready to buy the 8rib system with other options that he said were unnecessary for my goals.

I"m not a fan of ON3, the JPC single turbo kit makes some stellar power, Hellion kits are.... decent and the Armageddon kits have top of the line parts right out the box. S&H performance does a setup with ON3 piping and Comp oiless turbos. Dan at Pro Dyno said the kit was a complete disappointment. Tuning the kits aren't that great either, lots of dirty MAF signals.
Any kit is going to make you happy, 90% of the guys who buy any F/I don't plan on racing everyone but would rather just have a faster car.
I do find it kinda funny how everyone starts arguing which system is better, sort of like... who's the best tuner. All is subjective.
I personally like PD blowers.... are they the most efficient? No but their quality is typically better than other types of blowers. I've installed plenty of F/I kits, theres a reason you can slap a TVS on your car and never have to worry about it for 100k miles.

I have read a few threads comparing kenne bells 2.8 and single turbo kits.. more often than not, people have suggested to go with KB due to instantaneous boost across all rpms (well majority). I personally don't own a GT but a 3.7. I have started to peep around here in GT section since I am going to be upgrading to it by next year. Eventual goal is 4 figure hp in a couple years.

Also, I have read miscellaneous claims about 'maximum safe rwhp' on a stock motor. My local mustang shop guy says 550, some say 600, and I have seen people running 640 on a KB. I know Rapinator's motor let go at 611, but it was on an 'instantaneous' nitrous hit. Just curious what rest of boosted guys have been running on stock motor and for how long? Sorry for thread jack, but I figured maybe this question will help some of the readers of this thread.

I think keep it around 550rwhp on a stock 5.0 coyote if you want sure fire safety and have no plans for engine work and want it to last a while.

Cheers, thanks. It is going to be a progressive build for me. I wanna enjoy the N/A power to begin with (tune + basic bolt ons), FI year or so after (stock motor), and then the big numbers with a built engine.. rather than everything at once loll. Hence I'm going to start saving up now for next few years, amidst school and personal life obligations.

Damnn, power under your butt is so addicting! More is always less lol

I think I'm gonna go with the Paxton. Terry from beefcake
Quoted me 6150$ for a complete setup and expected to push 580-620rwhp. I plan on upgrading to a polished compressor and bov
Though
So probably
500$ more.

Just curious what rest of boosted guys have been running on stock motor and for how long?
We are at 636.49rwhp on a stock motor. 3mo now. Adding a torque booster with a wastegate this weekend. When you look at our data logs, the car is running good and safe. As long as we don't rev the motor to the moon, she should hold up fine.

Mine went on nitrous, spraying every day. A minimum of 5 bottles a week.

Noob question: what is a torque booster? I mean if it's some sort of controller, or more like an add on s/c accessory?

Also, I see you're dyno'd at 469.17 for torque. How much more would you expect after adding a torque booster?
