Noise After Kooks Install

Need some insight here guys, installed my 1 3/4 kooks headers this weekend. Although it's a pain the fitment was good, but I absolutely fought the orx pipe on the passenger side. With the driver side pipe in place and loose the passenger was half a pipe width off from lining up when fully seated in the x portion of the pipe. I managed to finally muscle it over and make the connection but now I've got a terrible noise inside the cabin. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger floorboard and it almost sounds like rocks jarring around or something is loose and banging but everything is tight. Would an exhaust leak sound like this?

It's hitting/rubbing somewhere.

as said, something is hitting, even if its not physically hitting when you inspect, you gotta take into consideration engine torque movement

Can't see it rubbing anywhere but I'm sure there's some movement when I get on it. Guess it's time to climb back under and double check everything.

My buddy had to shim his motor to the point that his strut towr brace wouldnt fit when he installed his Pypes long tubes. You might have the same issue. I was rubbing on something so bad thats the only thing he could do.

So had some time to get under the car today. Starter bolts had somehow managed to loosen up slightly, took the two out that I could get to and loctited them. Two other problems that I noticed, I really had to fight the passenger side connection of the x pipe. I made the connection and there's no leak but something is definitely not right on that side as you can see in the pics. One of the transmission support bolts is riding hard against the pipe, the other side has room. The passenger side coupling will not slide all the way on versus the driver sideim assuming because I had to really get on it to make the connection at the end of the header. I called kooks and they recommended loosening up the headers and getting everything installed but honestly with as much force as I had to put on it to get it coupled I'm not excited about putting that force on the hardware connecting the headers to the motor.

Almost forgot, no part of the header touches any part of the frame or car, closest it gets is a 1/4" from the passenger motor mount with one of the single tubes.

so when do you notice the sound? at idle, getting on it? hitting bumps? I have been chasing a rattle sense I've owned the car and contacted Borla and they are sending me a new driver side cat back. Took my car to 2 different exhaust place and they sais it wasn't hitting on anything so it might be a core in the muffler. I only noticed mine when the car got hot right after i got on it.

Noise After Kooks Install

Doesn't do it when it's cold, it's somewhat random when slowing down to a stop or idling when it's warm. Really sounds like it's coming from the passenger floorboard which leads me to believe it's the passenger side x pipe, not the header rubbing somewhere. Next few days I'm gonna pull the x pipe and take pics of the misalignment and go from there.
