Mobil 1 to motorcraft oil

I found out my new car was given Mobil 1 full synthetic after I got a oil change today with the standard ford oil.

I noticed the car actually wasn't performing as well any thoughts on this?

Could I damage anything by switching? Also should I switch back? If I should can I do it now or wait until I finish the 5k miles?

Thanks

I'm confused......you had Mobil 1 and went to Motorcraft oil? or you had Motorcraft and went to Mobil 1? at any rate, I'd say the performance loss is in your head man

I purchased this car used.

They had been taking it to a Chevy dealership and putting Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil into it. I took it to my local Ford dealership for an oil change (first time with my ownership of this vehicle) and they used their standard Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic blend.

My question is, should I be concerned I switched from the Full Synthetic to Semi Synthetic?

You shouldn't be concerned in the least bit about the change from synthetic to a blend.
If it eases your mind, though, switch back to a full synthetic on your next oil change.

How about preventing a possible engine tick.

I had a sort of tick noise with my 14 v6 and it was takin into the dealership for every oil change. At 20k miles I got rid of it for gt.

The engine won't be hurt when changing to Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic oil after running Mobil 1 synthetic.

Very few motor oils are a true honest 'full synthetic' anyway. Double hydro cracked crude oil is what 95% of oil companies sell in USA calling them 'full syn'. Basically highly refined dino crude oil. There are few oils that are true syn in the US market and made from something other than good ole crude. Great advertizing tho.....

And which brands are these you speak of? Link for evidence?

I run mobile 1 full synthetic the 15000 mile version. Have always run it in past ls1 cars, in my dd truck and everything else. Never any issues and I don't have the infamous tick everyone speaks of.

to be honest i have been listening to the engine ever since i had the oil changed to motorcrafts semi synthetic oil and i noticed that it sounds raspy and weaker if that makes any sense.

He's referring to top tier oils like Amsoil and Red Line. Companies like Mobil 1 changed their formula and are no longer a "true" synthetic. Haven't been for years now.

Thank you Grabber. Exactly my point. 'Bob is the oil guy" BITOG fourm has a fountain of info. For those that really want to know should sign up and surf away to find what it is all about with 'full syn' in USA. Actually the overload of info will most likely make you an addict to the site, or run for the hills. It's all about advertizing...lots of great oil out there, but not all of it is better than others you might think...
