Aed Tune review.

Hey. Just figured I'd post this because I know I've read almost every post that has anything to do with aed before I jumped in.

First Shauns customer service is second to none. He is a very busy guy and takes the time to explain things in a way anybody would understand.

He sent my xcal4 and base tunes. Received them Friday. Data logged last night and got my final tunes today. Basically soon as I emailed him the logs he was rewriting my tunes.

I did install airaid CAI lethal offroad x pipe at the same time as the tune.

But the first time I put the pedal down it was a huge difference. I mean seriously the torque down low is insane.

My car is a 2014 base gt track pack car. With 3.73s so I never had a problem with low end. But the tune just made that much difference.

Even from a slow roll in 1st my tire tracks don't stop until I hit 4th.

The engine sounds stronger smoother. Even louder it screams.

I don't have any dyno numbers to back it up. But I can say when I was stock I raced against my brothers 14' gt premium.

He has off road x pipe. JLT Intake. And borla s type axle back.

Also BMR lower and upper control arms. Lund tune and 3.55s

He destroyed me from every where. When he hit 3rd he was gone wasn't even close.

After Installed the same mods and the aed tune.

I jump out the hole and get him by a car.

From a roll its pretty close just depends who hits shift better. The Lund tune is also a great tune.

But my car idles smoother and actually barely has Amy exhaust fume smell.

Not sure if its because I'm running gt500 axle back maybe catching some of the fumes?

But with his car you cannot even leave the windows open at a stop light. Its very strong.

Anyhow I am extremely satisfied with aed.

The car feels about 35% more powerful if I had to guess. It's pretty extreme.

Im also running a Barton short throw with 2 post bracket and white line transmission mount bushing.

If you are thinking about aed go for it. Its worth every penny.

Hope I helped someone out with this review.

Do you plan on running your car at the track to see what 1/4 mile times you are getting with your new AED tune?

Yes thinking about running it Wednesday.

Not getting my hopes high on times cause I'll be on street tires.

But I know for a fact that it will do way better than I could have stock.

If Norwalk race way is open wednesday I'll be there.

Hey how can I change my profile pic and how do I add a Sig for mods?

OH BTW. I know there is plenty of post about different tunes and what not.

I have had a bunch of different cars over the years nodded everyone.

And with basic bolt ons and this tune. This car is fast.

I've had a 01 camaro. 04 c5 corvette. 07 c6 corvette. Was an auto so kind of a dog.

2008 c6 ls3 6 speed that car was quick I do not think the mustang had enough up top to compete. But down load the torque on the mustang is wicked.

Also had a 2011 base ss camaro 6 SPD.

The 5.0 basically would make a fool of that camaro.

I was lucky to run 13.50s with that car.

Anyhow I like all cars not loyal to a brand.

If this review can make your decision easier on what tune to go with my job is done.

I recommend both lund. And aed tunes

There both amazing. They are both fast and still drive great from stop light to stop light.

I'm looking forward to reading about your times at the track. Also, I need you to do me a favor. I need you to purchase a Lund tune, load it in your car and run the 1/4 mile. Then I need you to load your AED tune and run the 1/4 mile.

Also, that same track day I need you to load up a bama race tune same octane tune as your Lund and AED tune. I need you to run the 1/4 mile with your bama race tune.

Now I can see quantitative numbers showing which of those three tunes made your pony run the fastest 1/4 mile and by how much faster.

Man, that's great. My father has a 2014 5.0 and was debating to get a performance tune. He was looking at the pro cal tune by Ford Racing because of the warranty coverage to keep in tact. When ever I mention other tuning companies too him, he always asks why use another company. I explain to him that other tunes are more powerful and will make his pony run faster.

He wants to know how much faster. People on the forums in general say this tune is the best, that tune is the best, that other tune sucks, the other tune is conservative but in general people don't run various manufactures tunes in the car to see which is the best at producing ones car to be the fastest.

It would be great data to see some quantitative numbers in how your AED tune holds up against other tunes loaded in your car, with your mods to see how much faster or slower your car is with AED.

yeah Shaun is very good with these cars, but people need to realize, as you said he is very very busy, not only dealing with emails requesting tunes, but emails with questions (some are very repetitive and well.......stupid) phone calls with more questions, and tuning at their shop, if he seems a bit short at times, you know why, just dont expect him to stroke your ego or hold your hand and youll be happy

Update.

Had 2 runs tonight at Norwalk raceway.

First run was 12.624 at 114 2.0 60 on stock pirellis.

2nd run was 12.503 at 115 same 60 ft.

Really surprise the car ran this good. This was at a really high DA 2850 at about 85 degrees.

I'm thinking 11.9 on a good day with some sticky tires.

Shaun really knows what he's doing.
