Those are real nice Jago. A little bit too much white for my from a side profile, but nice nonetheless and I appreciate that. Call me crazy but whatever wheel I get, I want them to be whatever color is on the new Vaughn Gittin RTR S550 lol

The long overdue tracking email for my RTR decklid finally came today from the order I've been waiting for since mid-September. Still just as pumped as when I ordered it though!

Lol awesome bro!!!! And no it shall not since I created it! I'm very proud of it lol. I do have a bit of negative news however. I noticed the seal between the Decklid and the sheet metal where the lid rests and been separated in some spots. My lid was painted, 3M'd, and siliconed on. I'm just a wee bit nervous of rust

Same thing happened to mine. This has been a massive fail on rtr's part. The provided 3m tape doesn't hold the deck lid, and you have to double stack the 3m tape to get it to stick to the body. The center of mine is separating. Big ****ing mess rtr. Pathetic.

Well...uhm...yeah....can't wait til its time mine starts deteriorating. RTR: you did something wrong if you have a customer anticipating the decay of your product in their mind prior to receiving said product.

Yeah they seriously dropped the ball on fitment. They covered my repairs, but I'm thinking down the road with this issue...kinda nervous

I have no issue with mine as I bought my own 20 lbs 3M tape that was twice as wide as the tape supplied and used that for the application. I applied so much tape, it's not showing any signs of going anywhere lol.

I'm currently out of the country for another 2 weeks so we shall see if I return to a decklid panel laying on the floor. I'm pretty confident that sucker isn't going anywhere though with that tape.

Don't use the provided tape!

I used extra 3M and silicone for insurance, but there are still gaps due to the poor formation of the lid itself. Car is going back into the body shop tomorrow to see what can be done.

Finally! Did everyone's come with the rtr sticker already applied?

Ps- Mine also came with a note saying it was the 2nd generation and there was a massive research campaign through forums so they have corrected all various minor issues others were having 100% guaranteed or they will provide a total refund and provide another decklid to replace it for free!

The fine print at the bottom read: this offer only to be applied at company discretion and in the event hell freezes over.

Thanks! Thanks for the sticker info too. Any tips on how to remove it without scratching the paint?

Lol. Yeah mine looked great from a distance too, but you could see the shoddy paint work over the metal. Practically transparent. That's why I had my shop paint it. The car is actually back there right now having it glued on more efficiently as to not let moisture get in.

So I'm getting my name on the list for one. I've been trying to get one by calling but had no luck, salesman told me just order online then when it ships I'll get tracking. 2 months maybe.

I thought mine looked real fresh the first night I got it (probably because I waited months for it) but after I opened it I put it back in the box with the cushion and everything to wait and install come springtime. Well, I was bored and saw it in my room so I took it out to admire it and noticed a few imperfections I overlooked the the first time. Click image for larger version

The paint chips, scuffs and scratches are almost embarrassing. I mean come on guys. Step it up RTR and AM should demand better quality from those jerks they are supposed to be our allied liaison to the big companies wanting to take all the working mans last dollars.

Did you try wiping those off? Looks like residue from the buffing process to me. Mineral spirits is usually recommended to wipe it off.

Coyote, haven't seen a mint one yet. Looks like RTR rushed through these. I would've waited a little longer for perfection, but I suppose it worked out because I had mine reworked and repainted on RTR's dime.

Yeah man I thought the same at first, but rubbing my fingers across those areas there are noticeable indentions where the paint is uneven and chipped. Disappointing.

Yeah man I've been keeping up with the thread since day 1 but I ordered it in like August/September time and no one had received them til then so I kind of figured they would get em cleaned up. Guess not.

Didn't some people contact rtr or am about getting them to fix these or pay for the repairs?

These are a great piece. Had QC issues when I received mine but they made good on it. I get lots of compliments on the rear end.
