What wheels did you end up going with?
I'm undecided on spoilers too. Sometimes I think the GT500 is a lil too much. I like the Roush, but wish it wasn't 3 piece - and came pre-painted.

I went with STR Racing's 607 19x8.5 front 19x10 rear. They won't be this color though

Nice, should look good. I spent an hour on that site looking at wheels last night and I'm not even in the market yet lol.
Post some pics with those new shoes on her.

lol will do. Yeah it took me forever and a day to decide on a certain wheel. I had certain criteria I wanted to follow. Either thin 5 spoke or mesh style, didn't want 20's to save on weight a bit, didn't want 18's because they look too damn small on the S197's in my opinion, and I wanted a staggered set up where I could run at least a 285 out back because traction is huge obviously. I also didn't want the wheel to break the bank as tires are far more important to me. This wheel was really the only one one that fit the bill. Hopefully they'll be shipped soon, keep getting the run around. Not impressed at all with Carid.com right now.

I had honestly never heard of CARiD before. Searching for wheels they popped up - is there anything these guys don't sell lol? Was a lil sceptical myself, thinking maybe they were just a middle-man or direct marketer?
They do have a nice selection though - I've got about 10 possibles saved for when it's time for my new set.

Middle man for sure. At first the rep tried telling me there was a national backorder on this wheel. Now they supposedly have different finishes available. That is irrelevant to me as I'm powder coating them, but it was just weird he initially said that. Those wheels can't be that popular. You can get them on eBay pretty handily.

Me too bro. I haven't decided yet lol. This car has been the toughest one to modify and make decisions on lol. Too many possibilities. I'm thinking either white....or something crazy like Kawasaki or monster green lol.

I hear ya, man. It's a blessing and a curse having so many options. I had really planned on getting a white car and doing white wheels or maybe black. Always liked the all black and white scheme, but I gotta say the Monster green always catches my eye. You could always plasti dip first to see how you like it before powder coat. $5 and it would be easy before their on.

That's a good point. The car itself is great to me, but it's lacking some flare in my opinion. That's why I was considering the whacky green. Something along these lines lol.

The only downside to me is if the car is not over the top, like slammed or body mods, sometimes it looks out of place or ricey with the loud green unless there are other green accents.

Well it's definitely not going to be slammed. I'm in MA and the roads well....their not conducive for that kinda crap, nor do I want to stance the car. Above all else I want function and still be able to drag at the track. I bought springs/struts/shocks to sure all that up the right way. I guess I just wanna stick out a bit with the green wheels lol. I get plenty of looks now, I guess I'm gettin greedy lol.

That's another thing I have to finish. Only have an axle back currently. I got a little carried away with aesthetics and suspension lol. However the car probably puts down in the neighborhood of mid 300's and traction/wheel hop was a big issue which is why I tackled suspension first. Now wheels and tires, then it'll be go fast mods.

Yeah man, yours does look pretty kickass with that matching decklid, it is a very tasteful subtlety.

So I told you guys about how mine came in with a less than perfect condition so I decided to message Jess and he was very promptly, friendly and helpful. He assured me that they would get me taken care of and requested I go get a quote for repainting the panel. So I did...and the estimate total was more than the price of the decklid... So I sent it to him yesterday afternoon and I'm waiting to hear back. Should be interesting. How much did they reimburse you guys for?

Coyote, my repairs and a respray was only 125$ but that was a "hook up" if you will because I know the body shop owner. Jess covered that with no issues. I hope RTR sticks to their word and covers you, because after all the wait, it's only right.

Yeah me too man, I can't leave my car with what's on it. But I guess we will see. You did get a pretty sweet hook up though. I'm nervous about my quote costing more than the product. Maybe they'll just send me a new one...although I don't know if that will solve my problem lol.

First things first, get a second quote. I don't really think a respray with a little shaping should be more than 175$ at most. Then go from there. Getting a second one isn't going to solve the inferior product. I have yet to see a mint one, or a replacement for that matter. I'd do my best to get it fixed if I were you. That was my thinking.

Yeah, we are on the same page. I'll probably wait to hear back from him and see what makes the most sense. I saw some people got AM store credit as an alternative solution so I may consider that too. How exactly did they pay for yours; like, did you pay then send them the bill or did they pay the shop directly? I can't imagine they would just send money to my paypal and say git r dun.

I sent them the bill. They credited blow by racing, then blow by racing credited my credit card. Worked out great. I was shocked they footed the bill, wasn't expecting that.

Did the CARiD people come through, or did you end up getting them somewhere else? I'm curious as to how reliable they are.

CarID actually did come through after a few hiccups. First they told me the wheel was on national back order. Then they said they could get me this color combo. Then the offsets were miss-marked on the website. Website said 35+ fronts +40 rears. I ended up receiving +30 fronts +35+ rears which I'm ok with because it made the rears more concave. All this being said, I did receive the wheels in a relatively timely fashion, the wheel were packed very well, and not one bit of damage.

Looking back however, I think I'd order from a wheel specific vendor because the techs I dealt with had a very hard time ironing out details and getting into specifics with me on the particular wheel. I ordered through them because the only other place I found this particular wheel was eBay and didn't wanna deal with that crap. Just my .02

Good to know, thanks. Didn't know what to think about the company - just know they had a huge selection of wheels for pretty decent prices it seemed. Looks like maybe 3rd party sellers or something like that.

Yeah I believe so. Communication was there, it just wasn't timely. They said STR was beating around the bush. I don't know if there's any truth to that or not. And like I said, the offsets were one size on the site, and I got different ones. I'm ok with them, but still. They're an entire automotive site. Something like wheels should be ordered from a wheel specific vendor.

Yeah, I gotta have the right offsets for the Brembos, so I'd be kinda hesitant. I've got other things to do before wheels anyway. Hopefully I'll find something local when it comes time but who knows.
Looks like you came out OK, those should look great.

Looks like you came out OK, those should look great.

Yeah I made sure that I purchased wheels that would clear brembos as I will be purchasing them as well. And I'm with ya, I shored up aesthetics and suspension before I dove into wheels. And whenever I can get the mustang out to test fit, we'll see. Maybe I'll like them just how they are.

Yeah suspension had to come first - wheel hop is a b*tch. I've got exhaust lined up next and can't wait. I'll probably change my mind on wheels 5 times before it's time to buy anyway lol.

Yeah I definitely have to do full exhaust. I have an MRT axle back and I'm looking possibly at JBA long tubes and an X or H. I went back and forth and back and forth on a few different styles and finally pulled the trigger on these lol.

I'm going cat-back for now - either a GT500 or Solo Performance setup. Gonna hold off on headers/midpipe until I go forced induction down the road. Trying to hold off on tuning til then, but it's getting hard. Somehow gotten used to "my 420 hp daily driver" lol
