If you are not familiar with cut off wheels or body saws I would def stick with the hole saw like RTR recommends or you can do the tin snips. Just remember, as badly as you want that hole to be perfect and what not...it will never be seen. The main thing to remember is get any exposed metal protected so you don't have any rust issues. After that the rest is history. Just prep it like a boss, and if you can get a helper to help you align it perfectly before you stick it on that's helpful. Once it sticks that's the end of it.

"Rust issues"

Yeah you don't want those. Otherwise you'll end up with a thousand dollar decklid! I should've just bought a carbon fiber trunk! 😝

On a serious note... Looks very straightforward. I wanna try to use the tools that I have. I have a hole saw and it would make a perfect round cut. Do u think it will work fine?

Yeah just make sure it's the right size. It's a huge hole saw. Most people don't own that size

The only reason I have it is caused I used it to put a hole in the sheet rock when I was running wires from the tv to all the devices.

The directions say, "you can use a 5” Hole Saw to remove the Bump”.

Here is what the back of it looks like (the stock 13-14).

There are two screws visible on the inside of the trunk lid when you open it on the bottom corners. Start with those.

Then as you see in the pic there are several clips. My suggestion is to get a large bondo spreader or some sort of plastic or firm rubber scraper that you can slip down between the decklid and the panel. I would put painters tape on the paint above the panel before you do this just to be safe and avoid scratches.

If you are doing the ones on the bottom first (what I did) you just push your tool up and once you feel the clip just apply some pressure and you will hear the clips pop out. Then you can do the ones on the top and it will pop right off. No need to get crazy. If it isn't popping off then you have missed a clip. Lots of people say you can't get these off without breaking a few clips. I didn't break any.

Here is another pic with it off so you can see exactly where the clips are. The bottom has 2 less clips because those were where the screws were. So it is 6 on the top and 4 on the bottom.

Looks like some variates, like the Roush did, in which case it appears that they have no clips except perhaps at the faux gas cap with double sided tape around the 4 edges of the panel. The best I can figure.

That would be my guess too, seeing as the faux gas cap isn't built in. Time to get that fishing wire out!

Yeah yours should be different. I've never popped a 10-12 faux gas cap off. My guess is that there are 4 clips and some double sided tape holding yours on.

American Muscle. Buy it, even though it's out of stock, then wait. That's the only way to really get it these days.
