MagnaFlow Exhaust Setup

Hey everyone. Thinking about picking up a MagnaFlow GT500 style quad tip for my '13 GT Track Pack. No other exhaust mods yet, but thinking towards future purchases. Anyone have any videos or personal experience with the Magnaflow competition (believe that's what they call it... It's straight piped) exhaust setup? Especially with an off-road X or H pipe and/or long tube headers? Haven't seen much out there with this setup or heard it. Car isn't a daily and I love loud so don't mind that. Just curious of how it actually would sound. Any info or links to videos would be great. Thanks.

I have the magnoflow competition catbacks with their o/r x pipe. It is loud and I thought I would get use to it but I still haven't, I'm speaking from inside the cabin. I can hear it all the time. I can barely make a call on my phone while I am just cruising down the highway. (Is that what everyone calls drone?) I wish I could just hear it from inside the cabin when I was getting on the gas or have the windows down but nope, it is all the time. I do get compliments on it all the time though. Don't get me wrong, it does sound good just gets a little annoying at times. For not a DD though I would say go for it.

Mine is a DD. The only time it is overly loud to me is if im cruising on the highway in 6th at 60mph...at 70mph it is fine.

They sound better. Unless you have the power to back up the stupid annoying loud competition setup. If not you will be like all the other people around me that have stupid loud 5.0's and are slow as balls.

Plus the streets just have a 100% better sound

Curious how much of a difference it would actually make then to run the street with the rest the same way... No resonators or cats just the mufflers apposed to straight.

I have the MagnaFlow street catback with no cats. It's throaty at idle and cruising. And screams with a tone at full throttle.

Still has a tone vs just a loud *** noise

Good to hear.. I prefer the throaty sound over the rasp. Just didn't think the mufflers alone would actually help that much at that point. Looks like I'll bite the bullett and spend the extra money and take your advice.

To buy the gt500 style quads... It's $1200 to get the ones with mufflers. $900 without mufflers (straight pipe). He's saying buy with mufflers it'll sound better. No sense in buying just axle backs.. Planning on doing a full exhaust so might as well do it right the first time.
