Which axle backs sound better

Okay guys I have a 2014gt with Mac axle backs and wanna get borla s-types. How much better do they sound then the macs? All the newer gts around here have freakin roushs on it and no other kind. So idk, I need y'all's opinion. The Mac has an awesome
Sound but it drones. If
The borla has that good
Of a sound like the Mac then I'm sold on em because they supposedly
Don't drone? Opinions please.

GT 500 axle-backs do NOT drone....which was the biggest reason I got them.

Have gt500. Res delete. Sound great, not over the top, no drone. Sounds what a factory mustang should sound like.

+1 for GT500's coming from factory, that would sell cars by itself.

Just got my Axle-back Flowmaster Outlaws installed this morning and WOW, what a difference. For the price you pay you can't ask for anything better, that's just my opinion though . Of course I'm in the car so I'm saying this from a drivers perspective. I payed just under $390. Got them installed for $80 and a 12pk of Modelo. I'm very happy with what I got. I would have installed them myself but the pool table in my garage is in the way nowadays.

How much louder is the gt500 than stock ?

I heard some videos and couldn't really hear too much of a difference.

Got my roush axle backs for $444.00 with two day shipping from CJ pony parts. It was the exact sound I was looking for. Took about 40 min to install using a buddy's lift.

I just had the Outlaw cb system installed with long tubes and off road x. Insanely loud. The race shop that did the install said it was the loudest car they have ever worked on. Louder than their race-built C7 vettes with cutouts. Standing OUTSIDE the dyno room, the car was defeaning at WOT. On the street, the cracks and pops when you let off the throttle sound like gunfire. Outlaws are not really mufflers. The "muffler" portion just has small ribs inside the pipe, and that's it. Be prepared. I'm thinking about selling my ab portion of the Outlaw kit, if you are interested.

Well when it comes to the "Best" sound its going to be an opinion so my opinion is Borla S type or ATAK. I say that because its what i have, its what ive compared others to and its what most other mustang guys tell me they wish they bought in the first place after hearing mine. Let me add that costumer service is very good. I called Borla and told them that one of my mufflers was making a noise (buzzing when it got hot) and they made me another muffler and it just showed up at my door step free of charge yesterday. Do a search and listen to the sound and you will make your choice. BORLA FTW

the v6 borla s-type sounded great.

not sure if i like the v8 version though, looking for that more deep crisp sound. i just heard bassani and i really liked it, i see someone said something negative about drone and quality though does anyone have these to comment on?

I am really happy with my Dynomax ultraflo's. Volume seems close to the GT500's but a little deeper like the magnaflow street series. Cost about half of what the Magnaflows go for.

I called Borla and they sent me a new set for 13-14. Didnt make a difference cause tips stick out the same length. So now I have an extra set collecting dust.

I like my Borla Touring ABs with an otherwise completely stock exhaust system. They are less loud that some other choices, but deeper in sound, which is exactly what I was looking for. As Mario says, "I want to hear the motor", but I'd just as soon like to avoid pissing off the neighbors or cops.

I did the S-type on my 3.7 V-6, but for my 2013 GT, I went with the Borla ATAKs. No Drone, loudest TiVct 5.0 around here when you get on it, great sound on deceleration. I added the Ford TrackCal tune and it sounds old school as they add more deceleration braking into the tune and a rough idle for the manuals.

I think you've finally done it WhiteCali5.0. All these other 5000+ exhaust threads that have endless responses, pictures and videos for days couldn't possibly relate to this one. Nice job!
