Unhappy Wrecked my 2014 GT

This just happened like an hour ago... I don't know what to feel... I hit some water on the highway and hydroplaned into the median after spinning out. It was dark, and it was raining pretty hard....

Rear end looks bad, front end is pretty misaligned. Only the right side has visible damage but I had to climb out of the driver side door as it wouldn't open.

That sucks. At the end of the day, it's just sheet metal and plastic. Long as you are good everything else is replaceable.

I'm fine, just a bit sore is all. The Shelby is a tad out of my price range. If its totaled I'll have to make another tough color (and year) choice - I really enjoyed DIB.

Pic I took last week -

That's sucks man. Do they let you take your exhaust when they total a car? Stupid question but I would want mine back to use on the next.

I know it does not make you feel any better but at some point it happens to most people in life. All good points above. Your fine, it could have been worse. a few years back I bought a Porsche GT3 and was enjoying the hell out of it tracking it,, got carried away and totaled it on track. I felt pretty bad about wading up the car, but i got over it. Decided to go into racing so i could have a roll cage around me while i was having my fun. So Maybe this will open up another door.

Glad you are ok bro. These things happen to the best of us. That pic almost makes it look like a 2015.. hopefully they total it so you can get a new one.

Metal, plastic, and glass can be recreated but not a person. Glad you're up and going!!! I know it may sound a bit sappy but go give your loved ones a hug and kiss.

Glad to hear you're ok! The car looks done to me.... it sucks but things like this happen.... just be thankful you are alive and well, crashing into a median in the rain is NO JOKE.

If the drivers side door wont open she is likely done for. Too much frame damage occurred if the door opposite the impact won't even open. Damn, that's a hard hit.

Perhaps take the payout and wait for a 2015? Otherwise a nice low miles 2013 Boss would be quit the upgrade!

Glad you're ok. That's all the matters in the long run. I know it hurts at first believe me. I totaled my '13 just 8 months out of the gate. It takes a bit of time but the car is replaceable you and your health are not. It will definitely all work out even though right now feels like a black hole of despair. I hate the feeling but it will pass.

No everything is totaled so you can't get anything back. But you have first dibs on buying the totaled car back at a wrecked auto price. Not sure how they value it though. Might be worth it for the engine alone.

Glad your ok! I've spun plenty of cars over the years, it'll happen to everyone. My Mopar race car caught fire earlier this year, same deal, I wasn't hurt but it royally screwed my engine compartment...
Learn and move on...

Thanks guys. I've got an update.... Preliminary estimate by the adjuster was around $15,000 in damage. Will be going to the shop tomorrow and they will take a further look at it. The parts list is like 4 pages long.

He also ordered a tear down and frame pull.. Kinda wish it just gets totaled with this amount of damage so I can just move on and grab another.

If it's not totalled. Trade it the day you get it back. The wreck won't show up for a month or two. After that, it'll be almost impossible to trade it in at a good price.
