Perhaps in the Boss, but don't expect a stock GT to be happy operating at close to 8k. You'll need a new clutch at the very least, and I'd recommend upgrading valve train components.

Boss manifold debate is often times heated. You'll loose torque but gain power above 6500rpm. The question is how far you are willing to rev. There are significant differences between a Road Runner and a Coyote engine that allow the Boss 302 to reach its 7500rpm redline. And the differences are not just in the engine.

Personally I'd maximize torque in the mid range and stick with the standard Coyote manifold. Vorshlag, who have had a good deal of success racing their 2011 GT, have stated that they do not like the Boss manifold because it looses power everywhere below 6500rpm.

But the Boss manifold sure looks pretty in the engine bay!

I have It on an a6.works great. Shift points at 7500 and it likes it just fine. I've heard of people running them upto 8k on a stock gt motor but I personally don't feel good about going that high I a car in want to last without blowing the motor! Pulls great up top though for sure!

Congrats on your purchase! I've also been looking at the BOSS mani, however after reading all the discussions/debates here, I've changed my mind. Anxious to see if you go that route and how it turns out for you.

The Boss manifold looks sweet in the engine compartment, which is why a lot of folks want it. But as others have already debated, it has a purpose to allow the power band at the upper RPM range, which is what its design was for.

Thank you all! Don't know how much high rpms I'd actually doing. The drag strip here is also 1/8mile so maybe stick with more torque?

Stock mani is better for DD and street use. Boss mani is better for track use by widening the power band and allowing you to use more power all the way to 7600rpm. With the stock mani you start losing power and thus acceleration past 6500rpm so there's less car to max out.

Think about it. Having to shift at 6500rpm peak power means you gotta shift right at 114-115mph with 3.73 gears but if your power band is now up to 7600 you don't need to shift and can past the line before needing to shift.

Just keep in mind that's why racers use different setups depending on the track they goto because diff parts do diff things for you.
