Smoking after O/r midpipe

Just installed the lethal performance offroad h pipe with a steeda tune. I noticed some smoke coming out while it was idling and the smell is really strong. Is that normal for offroad midpipes?

Normal sir. New pipe with no cats! I have had mine for two weeks and it still smells like crap. I dont know if the smell goes away completly due to no cats. The smoke goes away after a couple of days of driving.

If you've ever been around pre-1975 muscle cars, thats the smell you should smell. It wont go away. Love it...

as said, the smoking is temporary, it will pass very soon, that nasty smell of unburned hydrocarbons, well youre stuck with that, its disgusting imo, only time catless smells good, is when there is race fuel being used. its this reason why I went with a catted x-pipe with long tubes, while they knock most of the stink out, there is still a stink, its just a different less smelly stink

A good enough tuner can decrease that smell at idle a LOT. mine smells of stench exhaust bad too with the Bama tune but ever since I switched to Hypermotive the smell is very faint. U agree with scott_0 love the smell of 100 octane =)

Can we run 100 octane w/o a tune, and would any gains come from it?

nah man, it'd more of a hindrance than a help, you'd have to tune for it.......

Ok. Just wondering if i would have gotten any gains untuned, we have a few sunoco stations up here that have 100 octane, one is right outside the campus.

Ive noticed that mine stock and no tune, just flowmast American thunder axle backs and it stinks. Seems like it runs a little rich. Is everyones stock like this? Maybe the stock tune is a little rich or something.
