Depends on your definition of "as good".

I had many friends with gsx's, talon's, lazers, who spent most of their time working on their cars than driving them. The 4G63 was a decent motor, but didn't hold up, nor take to mods as well as the mivec.

I'm from western MA, E85 isn't really an option considering there are no stations within 50 miles lol.

Lol you're ballsy! How long did that set up last you?

Lol. Have to change over injectors and fuel system, etc. But I wish it was more doable, just isn't with no stations around.

How long did it last like that?

I wanna go vortech or Paxton kit, but I'm debating building the engine first.

His car also failed on nitrous so it was a fast shot of power not a gradual rise like a turbo etc

About 6 months. Spraying it every day.

The initial tq hit is what took out the pistons.

You will be fine with a centri blower at 600.

Mine ran at 547 b4 that from dam near the day it came off the lot.

611 hp and 650 tq was just to much, for the stock pistons. It was 650 tq at 3500 rpms back then.

I'd be happy with 547 if it was relatively safe lol. I hear the rods are junk and would think those would go before the pistons no?

Those Evos are great cars. A good buddy of mine had an Evo X MR in high school. That car was a blast to drive. From a roll, my 5.7 Charger would put a car length on it before we got up to "highway speeds". This was in Mexico, of course. We live in Houston so the trip was easy enough. Of course he would annihilate me around a track but in a drag race even the slowballs 5.7 hemi was quicker than the Evo from a roll. He would've obviously put a really good launch on me had we started from a standstill, though.

Yeah they're good from a dig, very good. But with some mods they really wake up.
