Caliper covers

Does anyone know where to get a good set of caliper covers for a 14GT? The ones on AM and LMR just look stupid with the fake bolts and what not on them.

Caliper covers

I initially toyed with the idea of getting covers when I first bought my GT, then one day last week I just decided to suck it up and paint them. It's very easy with a brush, no masking involved, and not only will you save a ton of money, but they'll look 1000 times better. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Dude, that's exactly what I was thinking about doing. That actually looks really good too. What paint did you use? I think that's what I'm going to do.

And what wheels do you have on there? I think I'll have to look at those too. Haha

I kinda of thought that too. But I went ahead and bought them for my V6. Gotta say, unless you have your head right into the wheel, you can't tell it. Not having a place to really work on my car, I liked my choice.

One thing to remember if you decide to purchase them, check your rims for fitment. If you have Bullit Rims you will need to purchase a spacer for these or they will rub.

I used a $20 Dupli-Color Paint Kit from Autozone. I put 3 coats on each caliper and still have 75% of the can remaining. My wheels are 19x9.5 SVE Drifts.

I've only had it on there for about 2 weeks now, but it looks great. Before buying the kit, I read multiple positive reviews written by people who have had it on for years without an issue. As long as you clean the calipers properly and put on 3-5 coats it should last you many years. As I mentioned, I put 3 coats on each of my calipers and I still have well over half a can of paint left over in case I ever need to touch anything up in the future.

Dupli-Color is a high temp paint made specifically for painting calipers. The kit comes with a can of caliper cleaner spray, a can of caliper paint, a small brush, a stirring stick and an instruction manual.

In addition to what's included in the kit, I would also recommend spending a couple dollars on a slightly larger brush for the larger areas on the caliper. The small brush is perfect for the crevices, but a larger brush will cut your paint time in half on the larger areas.

Here is a photo of the actual kit:
