Cat deletes (tune required?)

I'm looking at getting some cat deletes and read in the item description a tune is required. I know is tune is "suggested" but, i am unsure if it actually is required. Will the car throw errors if I don't do a tune? Anyone provide some insight?

Search...cough cough. Yes you need tune. Why you ask? Because your rear O2's need to be turned off and the COT needs to be turned off. What is COT you ask? It dumps fuel at WOT to cool the cats. You will have an check engine light and run rich WOT if you do not get a tune. Basically defeating the purpose of the cat deletes for hp gains... Cool?

+1 not only does it do as stated above. a tune is definitely something you would want in your car. so you will knock two birds with one stone

Thanks for the help.

Looks like I will also be getting a Steeda CAI and SCT tuner (can't beat the price combo)... lol

Nothing like justify spending more just because you want to delete cats.
