OBD II Bluetooth monitors

I'm curious if anyone has used one of these to monitor certain parameters. I would like to use it for a digital speedo and oil pressure mostly.

I bought the $23 off of Amazon and use the $5 torque app. I mainly use it for speed, coolant temp, AFR, intake temp, and timing advance.

Does it have an oil pressure option? Also what brand and is it compatible with an iPhone?

I also bought the ELM327, but I don't see the oil pressure. I think the base GT just has an oil pressure dummy switch. To use with your Iphone, you need the ELM with the Wifi, not bluetooth.

Have you used it with an app to get 0-60, 1320 times etc. I'd be interested in knowing which APP. TIA.

I haven't been able to find one. As far as I know it's not compatible with the iPhone, only android.

I am currently using Dash Command on my Samsung phone which I got several weeks ago. The program seems cool and it does cost $10 to purchase. If you want to monitor the cars extended parameters which most likely you will want to, one needs to spend an additional $10 dollars to purchase the extended parameters.

As far as the device needed to make this all happen (dongle) my opinion don't buy a cheap POS one. Stay away from the eBay/Amazon 19.99 and under special. Prior to buying my current dongle back 6 months ago I did a lot of reading reviews and customer comments about this very topic. The large majority of reviews, recommended to stay away from that cheap made in China crap.

So after doing a bunch of research about purchasing a dongle, I did the sensible thing and of course purchased the 12 dollar China POS special off of eBay. I figured these reviews were bull crap and mine would last because for me it would be different.

My 15 dollar China special dongle came quickly and I was off using my new diagnostic monitoring car tool. At that time I was using the torque pro app and was working awesome. The dongle worked so awesome that by the 6 or 7th time with-in two months I used it, BROKEN. The sucker stopped working.

This is my new purchase and was highly recommend on customer reviews and write ups from the very beginning. I should of just purchased this one from jump and been done with it. It does cost $70 but hopefully it will last longer than 7 used times.

I'm just passing on my personal experience so feel free to take it for what its worth. Perhaps others have had their 15 dollar China dongle for years and all is working great with them but not in my case. The research said exactly that and I just didn't listen.

Dash command seems to monitor a lot of stuff however I do not see anything for oil pressure or oil anything for that matter. Hope this helps.😎

Never heard of this, anyone have a link? So it basically allows you to tap into the computer and monitor certain parameters with your Android phone? Will it let you see Trans temp on an auto gt? 2011

The 0-60 and 1/4 mile monitoring apps on these are not even close to being accurate. The device does not register the speed fast enough and is behind your actual speed. I nailed it and the cars speedodometer reads 25 mph and the dash command would read like 5 mph when I'm already up to 25 mph. It falls way behind because the car is quicker than what it can register the speed from the dongle to the phone.

Sure does bro. I'll take some screen shots of how mine is set up and how I customized mine thus far. You can add and monitor as much stuff as you want bro but here is mine.

This is Dash pro app on my Android phone and I believe that Apple has dash command as well.

Sweet! Much better then having my x4 plugged in. And that doesn't have a pid for Trans temp. Installing a circle d 5c next week so I really need to be able to see if the factory cooler is upto the task. So is there something I have to buy to use this or just the app?

You will need a dongle that connects via Bluetooth to the app. Like this bro.

I used Torque App. When i tested the 1/4 mile at the track, the App was 0.4 off consistently. My track app cluster was 0.2 off. But MPH speedo was accurate

I bet you it's 0.4sec slow. The thing about the OBDII transmitters is that they have a lag time, a refresh rate of how they're sending the packets of data that is much slower than how fast your car's speed is actually changing. I haven't looked into which one I want to buy yet (and I do want to buy one), but I remember in the little research that I did that the more expensive ones have faster refresh rates and send a lot more parameters than the cheap ones off Amazon. Your choice will depend on what exactly you're trying to accomplish with it.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm still trying to decide what to go with. I'm leaning towards the bluedriver.

Just remember that any bluetooth unit won't work with an iPhone.
