ID:	165573 I've been emailing the guys from circle D and they say this is the converter I need. Do I need the flex plate, transmission cooler, and what type of tuning do I need? Dyno? Or handle held

All you need is the converter. If you plan to stay N/A then you'll want either the 4C or the 5C. My recommendation is a hand held tuner with a tune from Mike Rousch from Mid Atlantic Performance.

Just the difference in stall speeds. A 4C will stall around 3800 while the 5C will stall around 4200. If you click on the select stall speed on Circle D's website it will show you all the different stalls.

What's the intended usage of the car?

Might be a dumb question, but what exactly does it mean when you say the car will stall? Are the converters good for dd cars?

Stall or flash to that rpm.

Converters are the best mod you can do to an auto outside of F/I.

And how exactly does that help performance wise? What differences will I notice from the stock converter?

You will pick up close to half a second. The car will rev into it's power band much quicker.

The converters are great only if your running drag radials or slicks all the time. You will never hook up on street tires. Stall means that the second you plant your foot to the floor the rpms will flash up to the converter stall speed 3800-4000 rpms (stock converter 1600-1800) and then go. Kind of like reving a manual clutch car up and dumping it. With a sticky tire they are worth .5 second off at the strip.

So add in converter price plus install. Then you will need drag radials with new drag rims plus lower controls arms at least. FYI about $2200 or so when all said and done to make the best use of the converter. Need to pick your parts and direction carefully. FYI

Your best bet is to call them up and discuss your goals for the car. Nitrous will work with any of them but personally I'd probably use the 3 with nitrous.

No idea since I don't have enough experience with nitrous.

Any idea on the installation costs? Trying to decide if this is a worthwhile upgrade since I'm trying to keep the car "kind of stock".

The direction I'm going with my Mustang is just a weekend fun car... that I may take to a road course 2-3 times a year. (no 1/4 miles) I just missed a 2 day event this weekend b/c my new tires weren't in yet.

So I'm wondering if its worth it to do this and get like the 1C or 2C. It seems like that alone (going up to 3k rpm) would be a huge jump if stock stall is only 1600-1800. Is this a good mod for road courses?

I don't think I'm going to go FI anytime soon. Unless I end up keeping the car until warranty is over, then I MAY add a Vortec.
