My 5.0 makes 650 ish on the bottle right now, 450 on motor

Will be 530 ish on motor and 875+ on nitrous eventually.

My old 03 cobra made 530 and now my uncle has it and it's 600 with a 2.3ll whipple. Just the same street manners as it was at 530.

With today's tuning and injectors almost any car can be made streetable. You would never know untill you put your foot down.

alot of people that want 700+ will either
1. Never actually go that far
2. Will never use it,

Anything over 400 at the tires is a crazy street car.

But I didn't buy my car as a investment, I got the 5.0 for one goal,
which eventually is to just have a trailer drag car.

That will be awhile from now, after I get my hands on a vette to replace it's street duties.

Omg of you're modding a car, and thinking about warranties and trade in value. Than don't mod your car period. It's never "financially" worth it.

Built not bought.
My car is 100% streetable. Only downside is I can not fill up at any gas station.

Thats awesome that you have 40k to drop on your car (Im envious)...you are the exception rather than the norm by far. Youve gutted out your car and built it to handle that kind of HP, so in your case I dont doubt your claims in the least. The avg guy is looking for gains but doesnt have the means nor mechanical skills to do what you did. If they did, Im guessing they wouldnt be looking for advice online!

I guess the question is, of the HP you generate...how much is nitrous based and how much does your S/C pull sans nitrous.
that is the dumbest thing I've heard in my life. that is the point of online forums, to get information that you do not know.

and to answer your other points, yes i'm 26 and no I don't drive like a jackass, especially in areas with kids, that's what a track is for.

I don't get why you care how much money I would want to put in my car. you outlined that by adding everything to my car would be Shelby money...yet it's not at the goal i'm trying to hit. I would then have to spend more money in the Shelby, therefore spending even more money than from my build on my 5.0

Really? This thread has become so ridiculous, I deleted my own posts. Once again...waste of time. Ford Racing forums have so much more realism to offer...anyways....

Ask a speed shop guy how worthy online forum advice is and see what he/she says..its hilarious. To be fair I have several guys that Ive met in these forums who ACTUALLY have the parts they are giving advice about, thats the only worthy online advice for me.

The shop I had install my Edelbrock is the preferred certified shop here in AZ. They gave advice on what ancillary parts to get and which ones that were just a waste of good money. Car performs almost flawless...its a rush.

You wrote "was looking to get a little insight on this subject, as i'm 100% new to it and don't want to be looking at things I don't need etc."

I suppose you can swap out every part in your car just cause someone else online did. At that point you no longer own a GT, its a rat rod. Fantastic advice for a newbie.

OR

Dont be a mod yoda...go to a SPEED SHOP and talk to the manager. Be prepared to ask the right questions, have an end goal in mind and a hard budget number. End of story. Best advice ever, but then again it just makes too much sense here.
