Factory stripes covered under warranty?

Hi everyone, so I got my 2014 GT a little over a year ago. I got the over the top racing stripes from the factory. Yesterday as I was washing my car I noticed three very small holes in the big main stripe on the hood. If I take it to a dealership will they replace the stripe or would they claim it is from a rock or something? I don't know what caused it but the holes are within about a half an inch from each other so the chances of 3 rocks all hitting the same area seems unlikely.

I wouldn't think they would be covered but I would take it and let them look at it anyway. Doesn't hurt to try.

I do think first noticing it after a year is probably going to work against you considering how many times you have probably washed that same area and never noticed it before. That area is prone to stone chips and such.

It's definitely not from the factory as I would have seen it before. Are the stripes prone to wearing down somehow? I would think the vinyl would be strong enough against rock chips, which is why I don't think it's that, although GrabberMeBlue you're right the area is very prone to rock chips, so I'm probably wrong.

The way a stone can take a chip out of a glass windshield, I'm sure it's very easy to tear a hole in the vinyl. I have the stripes on the front of my car ending in front of the cowl, I didn't take it all the way down the bumper so I am not as prone to get nicks in the vinyl, however, someone recently showed me all the little nicks they got on their bumper stripe from stones. Come to think of it, I actually got one little nick in my vinyl above the windshield from a stone, so it is pretty normal.

Bummer, yeah I forgot about windshields. I guess it won't hurt to ask, but I doubt a dealership will replace it.

Alright thanks guys!
