Drove a stage 1 roush

So my local dealer had a raffle thing going on where you try a key they mailed to you for a chance at winning a car or cash. As usual I went just for the heck of it. Obviously it is a sales tactic and the salesman was quite nice. He understood I wasn't really looking for a car since my car is only a couple months old and has less than 2000 miles. He asked if I would drive a 2012 roush stage one just to make it look like he tried, so I agreed. The car had 38,000 miles but was quite nice looking. As I drove the car I noticed the clutch was a bit heavier than my clutch and the shifter was very notchy shifting through every gear. I think I know what everyone has been complaining about now. My 14 GT shifts 1000x better than that roush. Is it possible it shifts bad and has a heavy clutch due to abuse or maybe not being stock? The salesman ended off saying if I traded in my car for the roush I would probably be making the same payments. I tried my hardest not to laugh.

Ya he wasn't too knowledgeable about it as he asked if it felt more powerful then mine. He also went on and said if I got it jack roush would be visiting soon and would sign the car adding value to it... LOL. Then he said the roush stage 2 had a supercharger and the RS3 had more power. I could tell he did not know much about the brand.

I find any stage of Roush really doesn't live up to my expectations at the dragstrip, based upon my observance of multiples of them. Always slower than they should be, given the supposed power they have.

Roush is too pricey , you can build your car better and cheaper than a stage 3 roush

No offense to anyone but y'all laugh at him...they probably laughed too, for bringing in those keys that you can bend in half and expect it to start a car...but salesman just want cash!

Lol you don't try and start a car they have a lock that the winning key fits. A friend of our family won about 3 years ago and took the cash over the car. Doesn't hurt to try.

Oh I've seen the papers that say if it starts the car you could keep it...cause they try to replicate the plastic end like a car key but it looks so shoty

Ohhh ya that one is a little different. I go because they always give out a walmart gift cards between $5 a $25 dollars, a scratch off lotto ticket and chances to win a TV or the car. Not bad for 15 - 20 minutes of my time.

I used to test drive toyotas every Tuesday for a good 2 months at a local Toyota dealership because they gave out $25 (and some weeks $50) VISA gift cards if you came in and test drove a car. An easy $100-200/month to zip up and down the highway once a week lol.

As for the stage 1 roush feeling more powerful (salesman), I don't know if I could have kept a straight face.
