Track Launch?

Like title says, what's the best rpm to launch my car at for the best 0-60 time? Also, how exactly should I launch it? Do I let off on the brakes completely and floor the gas?Do I let off on the brakes completely while quickly step down on the gas but not WOT immediately? Do I quickly (but not completely) let off on the brakes while flooring the gas? Do I quickly (but not completely) let off the brakes while stepping on the gas about the same quick pace?

Looking for experience from those who have mastered launching in their '11+ Manual GT.

How exactly is your foot on the brake when you're launching a 6 speed? First step would be using your left foot for the clutch.

He has a manual. And you can hold the clutch with the left foot
And give gas
And hold brake at the same time with the right
Foot. It's difficult to get the hang if but once you do,
It's easy. Look it up on YouTube that's how I learned.

Why would u want to hold the brake while launching a manual tho?

Op the best launches for me at the track on street tires so far have been with t/c in sport mode & slipping the clutch from like 3.5k rpms. But honestly to find the best for ur car u just gotta try different techniques & see what works best for u!

I do the 3 legged race in the burnout box at the track all the time. It is, however, pointless at the start line.

On a slick, I just rev her up to 4500 and dump the clutch and mat the gas simultaneously and all's well.

A street tire needs more finesse and less rpm. more like 2500-3000 and bleed the clutch in. The car likes to eat in first so, don't mind that. I can click off about a 4 sec 0-60 on the road with road tires, Factory 3.73 Brembocar doing that.

haha didnt even see that. i copied a post from the v6 section on how to launch. guess he had a automatic lmao!

But I launch at like 4K rpms and floor it in sport mode. I have Nitto Invo 285s in the rear 255 in the front with panhard bar and lowering springs. Havn't been to the track with them yet. Was just wondering what yall launch it at, autotrac off, on, sport mode? Just want to see which is better and what RPMs to dump it at, if dump it at all!

Clutch dumps and street rubber are bad, m'kay? As is the TC being on, even in sport mode. It's not crippling, like some systems but, you can do better on your own.

So what should I do? 2.5K and let it out slowly to half throttle and give it a little more 3/4 in 2nd then end at 2nd stomp it in 3rd with autotrac off or...?

2500-3000 and just feed in what it'll take, every car is a little different here

What I found was that slipping the clutch (letting it out slowly, and not dumping it) anywhere between 2500-3000 rpm is pretty much the sweet spot with street tires. The best 60ft I could pull off with the garbage pirellis was a 2.0

Wow you two guys mentioning sport mode have been the first people that I know of that know what sport mode is. A lot of people that I have seen on some mustang pages on fb and mustang forums don't know what is is. I even met a guy at the track who also asked how was it that I launched and when I told him sport mode he looked at me puzzled and said that he didn't know what that was.

Anyways, I also like using sport mode at around 3k rpms.
