Porting Heads

Has anyone ported their stock cylinder heads on their 5.0 Coyote? I know the Boss 302 heads are ported and allow for 4% additional flow, but what is the average performance gain for doing so (I am assuming 4%)?

Not worth buying the boss 302 heads. Porting stock heads costs around 1200-1500 each but it allows you to put in bigger valves. This is possible because stock heads are thicker than boss 302 heads. Have you thought of getting LT headers and an Xpipe, and single piece driveshaft? It cheaper when it is all done.

Hardly anyone goes this route unfortunately due to cost. I remember an article in MMFF a couple summers ago where they featured a car with a max effort N/A build. The car made over 500 to the wheel I believe but I'm sure it was serious cash to get it there. Be like electricity and take the path of least resistance and get forced induction. I'm just sitting back now waiting on the VA to settle the rest of my claim so I can go pay cash for a supercharger and supporting mods..heh
