Asap need help!!

I need some help trying to adjust my bmr UCA. I have it on the car but I wanna make it shorter but I can't figure out how the jam nuts work! Anyone can help??

Loosen the jamnuts towards the center of the UCA, one side is reverse threaded (righty loosy, lefty tighty), then adjust the length of your UCA. Once it's within spec, tighten your jam nuts outward against the two ends.
