A arsehole left a nice little present in the parking lot for me today, any ideas how to fix?

Touch up or bondo and repaint. Whatever your budget is.

But you can be more careful where you park, for free.

Dang, right on the body line too. Research some local paintless dent repair shops in your area. They should be able to fix that right up. Is that paint chipped or is that paint transfer from the other car?

In that area I don't think PDR could fix that. Best bet is some touch up paint, sand and blend.

Also agreed with 2 Stangz, don't want dings? Park away from people and do not get into tight parking spots. There's always the wise *** that will park next to you anyway, but the majority of the time you'll be just fine.

Yeah, sometimes you just run out of luck. I've got one ding on my whole car, right on the door's body line but a little smaller and paint's fine. I've got a ceramic clear coat on my car though so paint chipping is much less likely to occur upon contact.

Parking far away from people with an attractive looking car screams come open your door into mine, don't know about you guys. I've learned my lesson many years/cars ago with that one. There will always be that ****** that thinks you're a pompous dick and will ding it on purpose. I blend. If possible I park at the end of a row as to not have a vehicle on one side of me and leave a ton of room. Nothing yet on my 14. Fingers crossed.

Sorry, nothing important to add here. Just thought it funny that you can't say "******" but can say "dick."
Troy
Oh, and good luck!

Oh that sucks. I have always parked all my vehicles away from everyone when possible. I've yet to have anyone purposely park by me to damage my car or truck. I guess I've been lucky not to run into the worst people in the world. Mines in the shop now getting a new Cervinis hood put on after a guy in a F450 backed into it. Told me to pick out what I wanted and paid for it to be painted and put on. Can't wait until Thursday and love living in small communities.

"Small communities" could have something to do with it. I reside in Western Massachusetts. There's a reason we're called "Massholes". Probably about THEE worst drivers around.

I live in a ranch. My "town" is 200 people, closet groceries is 10k. Everyone knows everyone so we try not to be gigantic *** holes. I drive my truck to the big city when I go. I'm paranoid about my car.

There's the envious and the oblivious, with the latter vastly outnumbering the prior.

If someone takes time out of their day to park far out and damage another's property, I think I'd have less despise for them compared to someone who has no consideration or respect for other people's belongings.

I'm content with end spots or having to walk further, but never in-between.

All depends on the demographic in which you live in. I live right next to the most violent city in the United States. Springfield, MA. I agree on both accounts about these people being envious and or oblivious, but it happens a lot more than you'd think. Hell, just walking to the gym from the lot I see someone slamming their door into someone else. It's pathetic really.

Also, that's you. You and I have respect for other people's property. You're giving the human race way too much credit, and the benefit of the doubt. Purposeful door dings have happened to me multiple times, and numerous friends.

I park in BFE as well whenever possible. I cringe anytime I have to physically leave the car in a parking lot.

As another PDR tech, that is very doable and a simple job, even on the body line! When the job is done, the only thing you'll see is the paint chip.
