Instead of making a comment like that, you could try pointing the OP in the direction of a tuner you feel would better help him.

Likewise... Instead of making a comment like that, you could try pointing the OP in the direction of a tuner you feel would better help him.

AED can do it. I didn't know BAMA couldn't either my Boss manifold was tuned by them maybe AM can chime in on this. I'm sure Steeda can. And Lund tuning.

Bama probably can, but it's worse of a tune compared to the others

I don't have experience getting a mustang with a cobra jet manifold tuned, so I'd be no help. Whereas judging by his wording, Grabber Blue seems to know what he's talking about. That's why I made that remark.

I did take what he said as the word of wise, I have the 07 super snake now an love the instant power gain of the super charger but I want a all motor 5.0, my goal is 500rwhp an if I have to do the 302 bolt on heads to get that, with my other chosen mods I will.

He does know what he is talking about. But usually he has to laugh at the OP before he helps. I'm sure his next post should be informative though............

It takes the right mods/tuner to get 500 rwhp. Get the car first and then we'll talk. But be prepared to open up your check book. Especially if you get the crappy MT82.

Wasn't laughing at the OP although his first post wasn't very well thought out.

It's junk. And to make 500 horsepower you"ll need to spin it to 8000 rpm. That transmission doesn't like high rpm shifts.

It's weak as heck, locks out of gears sometimes, doesn't like high rpm shifting, same with cold weather, fails on stock power levels, and the bracket is literally held by zipties. I'm sure people can think of more.

Ford should have used a Tremec.

Get the auto, it's far better, and basically bulletproof.

Ok so I have done some research, an there are some issues with the 6r80 tranny not including the fact it is auto and I very much want a 6-speed tranny, so I found one that with handle up to 8000rpm high shifts(MAGNUM XL 6-Speed). Any of you heard of this tranny?

You'll have issues with any transmission. Not to mention, only the bad things get posted. Yes people will get a bad auto every so often, but not even remotely close to how bad the Chinese junk MT82 is.

And we've got another one that says auto's are a problem solely because it's an auto.

I'm not against the 6r80 trans at all. I just have more fun in a manual car. This is one of the main reasons I want my 5.0 to be manual.

Get the manual. And then when you try pushing it N/A to 500 horsepower and the 8000 rpm to do that and have nothing but problems report back here.

Chances are you are going to get a ****ty Mt82. Especially if you buy used.
I bought mine off the lot and first thing I did was change fluid,
Then clutch line, shifter, bracket, and whiteline bushing. I have been lucky with mine so far.
But the goods ones are like a needle in a hay stack.

Very very few and far between. This is the best auto transmission Ford has yet to produce. And arguably the best period.

There's more to a bad tune than just a bad A/F ratio.
