Tuners?

Not new to Mustangs but I am new to tuners. I have a 2013 GT manual transmission with only axle backs as my only mod. It is my daily driver and I want to see what one could do for me. Is there any link or reference to where in plain English it tells you exactly what one does and what I could expect?

Any suggestions on the best one for my car?

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you don't care about warranty, for a manual, Lund, and AED are the 2 most popular/best. If you care about warranty, either don't tune, or accept the shortened one with the FRPP tune.

Steeda is very safe, powerful & reliable.

You will have no issues with warranty concerns when you tune with Steeda.

Let me know if I can help assist with one ... you can reach me at tim@steeda.com.

Best Regards,

TJ

You won't regret a tune. Just do it. I got an SCT SF4 from AM with lifetime Bama tunes. There are better tunes out there but its a great deal and I have never had any issues..... knock on wood.

Sorry TJ can you please clarify the "You will have no issues with warranty concerns when you tune with Steeda."

If something does happen to the engine will still be covered by Ford or is Steed offering a warranty?

Thanks

A failure from a tune, particularly our tunes is extremely rare. The tunes we send out are the same tunes used in our Steeda serialized vehicles sold through Ford dealers. Vehicles that are backed by a warranty, hence need to have a tune that is not going to cause us warranty issues.

Should an engine failure occur, we would work with the Ford dealer for proper diagnostics, this would include not only traditional diagnostics but things such as fuel octane testing and other techniques to fully determine the cause of failure. Should it be determined that indeed the tuning was the cause of the engine failure and not abuse, over revving, improper fuel octane, etc, then we would work with the customer on resolving the failure.

Best Regards,

TJ

No offense, but this sounds so versed and generic. Like a robot.

Lol it's not that robotic. A bit generic perhaps but there's too many variables to just simply say yes either ford or steeda will stand behind the tune.

Either way, it's awesome to know but I do believe that Steeda and Ford will only stand behind the tune of Steeda was the only tune ever on the car and no other tunes have been used. Same as rule as BAMA has.

I'm considering after my next round of mods giving Steeda a try.

Thanks TJ

I have a Steeda tune and am very happy with it. On a dyno dynamic I did 402 WHP with 340 WTQ. That with a boss intake 84.5mm TB Airaid intake borla s catback. Click image for larger version

Dyno dynamics reads lower then most Dynos.

That's pretty low in torque. Are you running an auto or manual?

He's just representing his product man, not all of us are casual members here.

On the contrary, over the phone (and I'd assume in person) the Steeda guys are quite friendly and genuine people.

Just to compare; AM has great CS too, but you can tell they're just young guys with the priority of finishing the phone call with a happy customer. Steeda always handled my needs non-chillant with a chuckle exchanged here and there.

SCT x4 from AmericanMuscle with free custom tunes for life is the best option in my opinion. Never buy an used programmer... is a pain!

I can tell you that steeda backs their product. It's really refreshing to see actually. If something is their fault, they'll fix it. I wouldn't have any other place touch my car unless I absolutely have to. They are a great group of people.

Definitely agree. It's nice to see other Steeda supporters on these boards. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one and it may seem like I'm a 'wanna-be' sponsor, but that's not the case. I'm just surprised their products aren't more popular, for reasons already mentioned in this thread.

I've been running a Steeda Power package including their (Boss intake manifold, SCT Tuner, Steeda CAI and their 93 octane tune) for about 12,000 miles. I did have a few tuning issues but Steeda worked with me whereby I data-logged the car and sent them the logs. Steeda sent me updates until we nailed it down solid as a rock. Pulls like a freight train up top, great idle characteristics now, and no problems. I bought from Steeda because of their reputation and it has proved out!
Also, I wasn't really worried about warranty issues but now that I've read what TJ said above, I have even more confidence that I made the right decision.
Good luck with your decision.
