Had my 2013 gt on the dyno this weekend

So over the weekend I went to a car show and they had I dyno there so I said what the hell and put it on there. The first run was 398hp 390tq, second run was 402hp 394tq. My car is auto with steeda intake, catless hpipe, slp loudmouth axleback, and vmp tune. I'm happy with the numbers. Is that about where I should be hp and tq wise? And can anyone input why there is a hiccup right before 3k on the graph? Thanks Click image for larger version

Your actual #'s are going to be lower, they gave you the make me feel good #'s

And the dip is in both pulls so it's something to do with the tune more than likely

You need to do some dataloging badly.

But now you are going to hear from people saying I got this# with same mods. Don't listen to it bc it does not matter.

You can't compare 2 different cars on 2 different dynos on 2 different days. Just does not work.

You just need to get that tune in order and you will be good.

I've datalogged multiple times for Justin, for some reason it still won't do a burnout and if I power brake it at the track it bogs down when I let off the brake. What should my numbers be around?

Yeah that dip is consistent on both pulls so a datalog will smooth it out. Also your hp and torque are very close in number to each other. Shouldn't be that close with the mods you have.

Are you taking traction control off b4 your burnouts?

It's hard to say on your actuall #'s but the ones they gave you were uncorrected. So using a correction factor they will be slightly lower. Don't get caught up in the # game.

Yeah I shut off trac and still will bog the power down at 2k and won't go past and keep bogging to stay under 2k. How do you feel about Lund? He lives about 15 mins away from me and my buddy knows him really well.

What should my 1/4 times be around because the best I've got is 12.5 and that's with no spinning on the vmp tune. Shouldn't it be lower?

Is this time on street tires? And stock converter if so that's actually pretty good given your mods and the way the graph is looking.

Best I've ever run was a 12.9 on street tires, no tune, only BBK short tube headers.
With regards to burnouts, I've seen posts where 2013 auto's can't do burnouts, I have a 2013 auto and I could smoke the tires forever with traction control off. That is just pushing the button once.
I just do a little spin to clean the tires as it really doesn't do anything to burnout on street tires, it really doesn't heat them up enough and they don't get any "stickier.
I've gone to drag times.com and seen an awful lot of stock/slightly modified GT's running low 13's high 12's.
Track can make a difference as well. I'm in western pa and the tracks I've run are at 1200 - 1300 ft above sea level.
12.5's with street tires is fantastic, even with a tune.

I had a bama tune and it would roast the tires but the vmp tune won't.

Street tires, no converter, BBK short tube, best 60' 1.976, 13.02 et
2.07 60' 13.07 et, best et 12.905 with a 2.007 60'.
Do the Hotchkis lcas eliminate wheel hop?
I had one run I thought I tore the tire off the rim when I launched, guy behind me said i was bouncing like mad. That run was a 13.8 with a 2.37 60'
Need to fix that for next year.

I love the hotchkis lcas they are stiff when daily driving so they do feel bumpy but man at the the track they plant the power down. Never had an issue even on the street with launching with them. With the stocks I used to blow the wheels out when the car would shift into second now no problem.

Hmm the VMP tune may not deactivate the "anti-power braking" that the 2013-14 autos have. You could always ask your current tuner about it.

Great numbers Man! Awesome torque numbers much higher than most with your mods. Opinions are like a$sholes, everyone has one. I noticed a huge increase in overall torque with my VMP tune. On the street in everyday driving its great. 12.50's are very respectable times BTW. I have no problems completely obliterating my tires (stock oem) in first, shift into second and sometimes third. FYI

Dude you have a drag radial on and your complaining about hooking up...LOL.

Question, what did Justin set your shift points at? Mine where around 7100 and I lowered them down to 6800 range (on device) and it runs a lot better. On stock intake and exhaust it would fall flat at top of second and third. JMO

Lund will give you a tune that will definately show a better graph than that.

Smoking your tires = loss of traction.

I'm confused as to why you'd WANT to spin your tires, except to "look cool" or to clean tires/warm them up.

Have you ever seen a GT-R, Lambo, 911 Turbo, etc... take off... no tire screeching.
Granted those examples are all 4WD, but the whole point of traction control is to maximize your acceleration, while minimizing tire slip (loss of grip/acceleration).

A small chirp at gear change is all you really want.

Your 1/4 miles are showing you are tuned well.

Your dyno numbers assuming a 16% correction = 464hp, so you've increased hp about 10% above stock (420hp x 1.1=462hp) with your mods (CAI & catless), which is what a lot of people get in general with a few bolt ons.

I don't see a problem. Your numbers look fine... and the proof is in the pudding... I mean the 1/4 mile.

Also, some dyno operators use a higher smoothing #, to make the graph look a little smoother, and it won't show the smaller dips/peaks as much as your "smoothing = 1" graph.

That's all I do, just spin them real quick to make sure they're clean before making a pass. Doing big burnouts with street tires does nothing really.

No still no burnout... I've talked to lund think I'm switching over to him. I think Justin is a great tuner just tired of the waiting games with him.

My first time up I did a great burn out. But, I will tell you on my third run I think my tires were warm and had a lot of track glue on them because they would barely spin. That's called stick. LOL

Good luck, Man. Justin has always been very responsive to me.

Lund throws a cam tune in for free so I kinda wanna hear a cam tune on my straight pipped 5.0 lol

Mods are JLT intake/tune

pretty happy with that, next looking for a Boss302 intake/tune to push me past the 400 mark.

you shouldn't need a boss intake to go over 400, my only mods are a tune and Pypes long tubes and catted x pipe and I made 412/395
