Drag racing question

Hey everyone I'm new to this forum and am looking for a few pointers about my car. I just bought a 2011 GT about 3 months ago and love it so far. I'm a giant drag racer and was wondering what's the best route to get my car into the 11s. So far I've made about 40 passes with it and the best I got so far was a 12.84 @ 114 with a 1.84 60. That's also running a 17" general gmax tire which came on the car, with me lowering to 22 pound. That being said what do you think would be my best way to touch 11s. Also it's a 6 speed with 3.73 gears. Thanks

A good tune and slicks should be enough. An off road x-pipe also wouldn't hurt.

That's what I was thinking but with that being said I still have the 2 piece drive shaft so I'm kinda sketched out about slicks just yet

Well you have a manual so you don't want to be running drag radials or you'll be replacing your rear sooner than later. A slick is what you want to run.

Ya isn't it because a radial has a harder side wall that doesn't absorb as much?

Yea but there are stiff sidewall slicks also.......run a 28" tire to stay at the top of 4th in a 1/4....Yea I wouldn't chance a hard launch on a two piece but if you decide to at least run loops. ..you can get away with radials but it's alot harder on the car because the tranny ain't gonna absorb the shock like an auto so everything else is what takes the hit I run both radials and slicks depending where I'm racing but on the street slicks ain't gonna work out too well with them aired down and cornering lol drag radials ain't forgiving either you spin hard your screwed ...........for track.... slicks for a m6
