Back fire from time to time?

Hey guys every so often I get a single backfire while coming off throttle. It did it before my tune a few times too but that was only when "down hill assist" was ON. My mods are in my signature. Auto trans 9400 miles. Should I be concerned?

I get the occasional backfire also. Have the same mods, o/r x pipe, cat back, 91 race tune. I am hoping it isn't causing any issues but I sure would like to figure it out and get it fixed. It's pretty annoying. My entire exhaust is pretty annoying....Magnaflow Competition.

It's tune related as I've seen it with some tuners but not others with the cats deleted.

Mine did it on the stock tune but only on down hill assist mode. Now it does it maybe 2 times a week on a down shift with the AUTO trans. Its such a weird back fire too. It isnt your normal POP or BANG, its muffeled and sounds like a PA-TINGGGGGGG. Like shooting a 22 long rifle at some steel. Im going to assume back fires are a rich condition so it should be fine right?

I've heard it lightly once or twice in my BBP car on Procal. It seems unrelated to any action on my part. It just does it when it feels like it.

On 2011 2012 there is a button on the shifter, kinda like where your select shift is. Well that button is the down hill assist/over drive button. When you hit the button it shows a yellow car on a down hill slope. It keeps RPM up while braking or coming it to turns.

Interesting. So then its kind of like a button that delays shifting and doesn't let you go into the OD gears.

I guess the idea is so that you use engine braking to help stop. Otherwise your brake wont last very long.
