Should I put 331s in my auto?

My buddy just bought a m6 gt and he's putting 373s in it and he will give me the 331s. They have maybe 100 miles on them. Should I install them I'm still on stock converter?

They will help a little. They will allow you to still stay in 3rd gear as you cross the stripe. I say do it but would still consider a converter at some point.

Im getting a converter just waiting until I have the money to spare... But he will give me the gears for free so should I install them now or wait? Just wanted to make sure they wouldn't hurt my 1/4 mile times etc.

No they will help your times. They're the best gears N/A on the autos.

Depends on mileage and what the installer likes to do.

Comparing 3.31 gears in a manual car vs. an auto car is not a fair comparison.

I just shipped my 3.31's to a guy who wanted them for his auto. As far as I know those gears are very ideal for the A6 cars so I'd say do it!! Gears in general make a pretty big difference!!

If at first you don't succeed. keep flushing!!!
