Purchased SCT X4

Had an Amazon gift card so I got a good deal. Next decision is what company should I get to tune: Bama or Steeda? I say these two BC they seem to be the safest of the bunch. Any opinions? I have a 14 GT manual. Thanks in advance.

Lund or AED would be far better choices.

Actually both as far as Bama is concerned.

Steeda has proven to be safe though just not an overall impressive tune.

My experience comes from helping others tuning and data logging.

Do they tune for the 5.0? I've only heard of them for the 3.7

Possibly but I've never seen anyone say they were running their tunes.

This car ran an MPT tune for a while NA. It actually was a good tune. Nothing compared to the Lund tune though.

It is a no-brainer IMHO, for something that is SO critical to your car's well being and performance, why would you NOT go with the best tuner. One good quality tune is FAR more important than a bunch of free bad ones. It is easy to find hundreds of positive comments on any turners & their tunes, but look at the same tuners negative feedback. The most highly regarded tuners, have very few negative reviews.

Tunes can be "conservative" and still dangerous, all in how they make the horsepower

The general consensus is that AED and Lund are top tuners. I may not have a tune on my car, but I can still research the tuners, and their feedback.

I know this because I know how to tune. I just don't sell tunes but I help out people all the time with their tunes.

Both have had zero failures. Not all can say that.

Shaun @ AED is so safe he won't even tune your car until you data log for him. He can tell you how good your gas is and if he feels it isn't up to par he won't tune.

I didn't question your knowledge. I've seen you can back up what you say. I questioned mustangz bandwagoned "opinion" which was just copied from you. In his situation, I sometimes say "I've heard... (insert whatever)" when I don't have the direct experience, or its not fact based.

For example, from my research on forums, it seems tunes are actually pretty similar in the engine performance & WOT (wide open throttle) department. And the differences really comes down to driveability and auto transmission performance.

And fyi, long term reliability is probably still considered unknown since most coyote engines are less than 3-4 years old.

Unless the tuners back up the warranty the way FRPP does (when dealer installed) then I'd say they don't even have faith in themselves.

Bandwagon? Like you, I've researched on forums, and seen positive feedback, and negative when applicable. Based on that, I formed my opinion. I guess the term "bandwagon" has changed.

I also wouldn't day long term is unknown, in terms of years, yes. Milage, not so much, many coyotes are well above 80-90k miles with no hint of trouble. Yes that's not over the "magical" 100k, but if nothing has gone wrong and they installed the tunes with say 30k miles and they have gone that long, maintenance seems like it's more of a factor.

buy an x4, send Shaun an email telling him you're interested in one of his tunes, he'll send you a set of parameters he wants datalogged, he'll look at the log and let you know if he can tune your car, at which point if he decides he can, you'll then have to pay him $250 and he'll send a base map, you'll then datalog the base map and he'll make the necessary adjustments

Lethal Performance in Schertz Tx tuned my 5.0. I can say proudly I can go straight sideways in 4th gear. 🙈 4k to 7.5k RPMs is literally a 150 shot of nitrous. Lol crazy
