Boost

Hey guys, I'm looking to boost my car here in the next few months and I have a few questions. So I'm looking for about 600rwhp on my 2014 automatic GT, and someone recommended the JPC turbo, but if I'm not going to build the engine for another year or two, should I just go with a supercharger instead? Superchargers tend to be less expensive, but is there any benefit to having a turbo if you can get the same out of a s/c?

@Rapinator is the one too ask. He is surely one of the gods on this forum on Forced Induction. Just don't make fun of him for blowing his engine. 😄👏👏👏😄👏😄👏👏

If you're looking for around 600 just about any kit will do. We have a few custom kits for Vortech, Paxton, roush and whipple. All these will get you in that range.

I would consider the VMP/Roush kit. Stock like driveability plus nothing but a good tire will put you in the 10's since you have an auto.

When I mentioned building the engine, I meant forged shortblock, rods and pistons too. So if you want to exceed 650rwhp or so.

Whipple or Roush twin screw will get you 600 with an x pipe and tune. Totally safe for stock 5.0. Nothing else needed and terrific DD. It's the easiest, cheapest, safest route to 600.

The jpc turbo kit you spoke of will yield you more power with less boost. If you are on the stock motor keep the boost below 9 psi

As far as supercharger vs turbo. Honestly I believe it comes down to what kind of driving you do more.

More of a red light to red light type of guy, more personal satisfaction go with the blower tvs or whipple.

Or if your a highway runner alot of top end pulls go turbo.

I pick the Vortech Kit for my 2014 Automatic 5.0 and it is the best mod I have ever done so far. It drives like stock and I'm currently getting 18mpg on the city and 26mph on the highway same as stock. And no heat problems if u are worry about that. And 600hp is possible with a x pipe and intake w/ a good tune

We're making 650RWHP safely with the Roush 2.3 kit, its all in the tune. This tune is on a dyno tune by Pro Dyno. Lund and VMP I feel are the two best remote tuners out there for a the PD blowers.
Its not going to cost you 7-8k for a Roush TVS kit to make 600hp. That's a bit on the high end for costs.
We're a master dealer for Roush, Vortech and Paxton. We push a lot of these kits

turbo makes the same at the wheels but less at the crank. Food for thought when trying to boost a stock motor.

We are making close to 650rwhp on stock internals with a wastegated Vortech setup. Car runs incredibly well. Easy to daily drive and a beast when you put your foot into it. This setup wont set you back what a TVS will and is easy to do it yourself. My son and I installed it easily on a weekend. Jon Lund remote tuning is INCLUDED with the package deal so you are tuned with a safe tune that will make you feel like you are a fighter pilot when driving. TeamBeefCakeRacing's Beefcake Special is hard to beat for a fully tuned forced inducted "system" (there is more you need than "just" blower, or "just" turbo. If you don't get everything at once, you can empty your account adding what you need. You can easily run 600rwhp SAFELY with the Beefcake Special with everything included in the kit, with a JLT performance intake.

I appreciate everyone's responses. I may be leaning towards a s/c now, considering the type of driving I do and the price.

All depends on your driving style. If your a red light to red light driver turbos will not be verry beneficial for you,
A roush/vmp/whipple etc setup will though.

and centri blowers are comparable to a bad *** NA motor honestly. Not crazy on tq but makes good HP.

Same shop that built my motor and everything else on my car.
Normally someone is looking at a little more than what I'm spending.

But I have spent a lot of $$ with them alot
