Help! Stock mid pipe 💀

Okay. Iv been trying different ways to loosen the passenger side down pipe bolt on the stock mid pipe on my 2014 5.0 to install an off road x. It's killing me lol. I have a long enough extension on the ratchet. Iv tried long and short sockets (15mm) and a swivel but I can't get the damn thing off or even loose. Everytime I catch it I start to muscle it and the socket just slips off and after so many times is starting to strip the bolt. I need help haha!! As you know the only way to really get to it is from under the hood so any advice would be great. Thank you!!! Click image for larger version

Start with some liquid wrench. Let is soak and put on more. When you put it back together, use stainless or brass nuts.

I'll give it a try. Any regular auto parts store sells it?

That's the thing when I finally get the socket onto the bolt and hold it in place and feel like I'm about to crack it loose it just kinda slips. And everytime it does I see the edges stripping away. I went around and cracked all the other ones just to see and they all act the same but for some reason that bolt just won't budge. It's almost like the metal is soft lol. Pissing me off.

I sprayed PB blaster on mine and let it sit for 15 minutes. It came off right away after that.
It was when the car had 500 miles also, maybe that's why it was easy

Iv got a little over 4k on it. I'll spray it and let it sit and spray it a few more times and try. Thanks 👍

try tightening it a little first and it'll probably wind right off. That's how I got nuts off the hot side of a turbo when I rebuilt those and nothing is stuck worse than that.

Skating on thin ice if you have already stripped the bolt. Are you using a 12 point socket? I'd start with some PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench as suggested and let it sit. Heating the parts might help too. Also make sure you are using a quality 6 point socket that isn't already worn.

If you're gonna get new bolts anyhow just use a reciprocating saw and EZ out.

Yeah 12 point. Tried a few different size sockets paired with a swivel to get a good fit. Just being a b**** lol. I'll spray it good a few times and try again tonight. Thanks everyone 👍

As mentioned before, hitting it with something like Kroil or PB blaster makes all the difference in the world. I've done on 14 GT without doing it and on 14 GT with doing it, makes a world of difference. If I'm not mistaken those bolts are cut with threads on only one side so as to never come off.

You may be right. I know the drivers side ones are hard to break loose but I did them just to make sure. I think it's just the combo of being so hard to get to and being so tight. I got some pb yesterday I'm gonna give it another try before taking it somewhere lol
