2014 Mustang GT Ticking noise under hood

So today I went outside to show my friend my exhaust and get his opinion on it and when we turn the car on and let it warm up we notice that there is a ticking noise coming from under the hood. We pop the hood to check under there, everything LOOKS normal but the ticking noise is there and its not the sound of the engine idling its a separate sound. So I come back in and do some research and long behold I'm not the only one who has encountered this. I saw posts about a lifter and some about having Ford replace their motor. I have an appointment with Ford on Monday to get it checked out but just wanted to see if anyone on here has had first hand experience with this and if I could get their insight. The mods that are currently on the car are just pype bombs and an after cat X pipe. I did run catless for like 5 days going about 150 miles without a tune but that's it, I put the cats back on after that. Just mentioning the mods to see if they make any difference.

I'm confused about your tick. Is it the engine ticking? You said it isn't the engine. If not the engine, you should be able to find which thing it's coming from - AC, alternator, etc. Does the tick coincide with rpm's? Only hot engine?

What I meant by it's not the engine is that it isn't the idling noise. It may come from the engine but it isn't the engine idling. I worded it poorly I know, my bad. And it only ticks when its warmed up and idling, but I might not be able to hear it other than idle because my exhaust drowns out the noise.

Most people find the valve train to have slight ticks and chatter at idle. Not real loud, hard to pinpoint. And it's pretty normal. If you stand at the engine and go from idle to 2k rpm, and the tick goes with the engine, get Ford help. Just my opinion.
