trading SCT iTSX for track Key

hi all

so i recently upgraded my car to 4.10 gears, after doing so i found out that i had to recalibrate the speedo. so i pulled the trigger and bought a SCT iTSX tuner for my car with some 91 octane tunes installed, well after that i found out that ford offers the track Key

i really like the idle feature with the track key and the ability to turn it on or off at my desire
so i will be getting the track key this week and having my dealer install it.

so now I'm stuck with this SCT iTSX unit
I'm wondering would i be able to sell this unit even thou its been programed with bama tunes for my car

i literally used it once to upload the race tune
i read online that bama does not accept returns

anyone here want it ha

thanks everyone
JHO

You will have to return the car to stock and then you can sell the tuner which will now be "unmarried". You can sell the tuner but tunes are not transferable. Whoever buys the tuner will need to purchase their own tunes.

You will need to return the car to stock anyways for the track key.

according to ford
it changes over 600 parameters
my car was made after 7 of 2013 so it has a boss 302 computer installed i'm told , therefore i can order the key and unlock the race mode

it also gives the car a nicer idle that can be tuned on or off
allows the user to set a launch control NOT A LINE LOCK
also allows an option to set a pit lane speed restriction

im not really all that intrested in squeezing every ounce of power out of my car at the moment. maybe in a couple years i will supercharge it,
however i enjoy driving it

so for me the track key is ideal
also i was not blown away by bama's customer service so im glad i wont have to deal with them again

What happens if one leaves the car tuned and runs the track key? Would the normal key run on the aftermarket tune and the track key on the Ford tune? And how does it utilize 2 tunes with just a different key? No programming?

the way i read it

the track key will overwrite any other tune regardless i will be returning to stock before going in

hence my selling my SCT Itsx

Figured that, but would the standard key still retain the tune that's on the vehicle if other then stock? And how does it switch tunes without writing to the pcm when with a hand held device such as sct ya have to wait for the calibration to be written to the pcm which usually takes at least 5 min...

would be sweet if it worked that way but it just goes back to stock with the standard Key

I have the TrackKey tune in a TrackCal Ford Programmer for my 2013 GT. It wakes the car up, boat loads of low end torque added down low; and everyone loves the old school idle that rocks the Borla ATAKs. Only time i need to turn the Idle off is very heavy heavy stop and go road blocks; glad I can turn it off then.

Mine wont switch back to stock with Keys, but with the ability to turn the idle off, no need to. The launch control is good.

Round up a set of Boss 302 side exhaust and the QTP cut outs for the complete experience with that loping idle. Have fun!

I am thinking of adding the TrackCal to my 2014 GT (Built in May 2013) purchased new June 2014 - strange how it was almost a year from the build. We disappointed I couldn't get the Track Key but I will have to get over it. I read that after you receive the TrackCal I need to contact Ford with my VIN and PCM part number. Where is the PCM? Is it difficult to get at and see the part number?

i went to my local ford dealer and they never heard of the idea of "tuning" or what a track key was. when i explained it to them and they looked up the part number they said they would get back to me, that was almost 2 weeks ago. now i gotta drive 60+ miles to another dealer who knows what im talking about.

Sounds like the first dealer just hires anyone and the management sucks because they don't even know their own products. Wouldn't take my car there after experience.
