Clunking while clutching

Does anyone ever clutch in while still in 1st gear while launching normally/stopping suddenly in 1st gear and hear a clunking sound? I get it a lot sometimes if I have to clutch in suddenly

Completely normal, our mustangs have 2 piece drive shafts and there's "slack" engineered in there for some reason. Is it annoying? Yes. Does it harm the car? No. Just drive it. Try to come off the clutch a little slower and feed it some throttole if it needs it so the car doesn't learch, or buck and hurt the tranny.

I have a 1-piece aluminum drive shaft and mine still does it. So I would say it's not entirely the stock 2-piece d/s. More than likely it's the stock clutch.

That's possible, but either way it seems a lot of us on here experienced drive train clunks. I wouldn't worry about it.

My auto has the slack too. If you coast for a sec and get back on it it makes the Pop noise. Always has.

Clutch not so much, my stang has a spec stage 2 or 3 (I forget) clutch in it makes the same clunk as my fathers bone stock 08 gt

^^^ good to know. Now I don't have to waste money on an aftermarket clutch. Hopefully someone will figure this out.
