Sell my 5.0 for a lifted truck?

I can't believe i'd ever even consider this but im thinking of selling my car for a huge truck. I love my car its perfect to me, exactly how i want it. Ive always wanted a lifted truck, and a fast car since i was a kid. My 5.0 is 3 yrs old and i love it, but its just little things. Like my daughters car seat won't fit in my back seat, so we cant take my car anywhere as a family we have to take my wife's highlander (blah).

Has anyone sold their baby for a truck? Did you regret it?

Here are a few pics for reference. The car is mine the truck is a friends. Im not saying i want this color or rims or anything, just want a huge truck with alot of space! Preferably a 2500HD. Let me know what you think....yay, or nay. Am i insane!???

I can't say the lifted truck does it for me but you can certainly do a lot more with a truck. I'm starting to think something along these lines as well, moving to coastal SC next summer and already thinking of buying a boat which will require a truck to pull it.

So you go from not being able to use the 5.0 as a family car, will the truck be anymore practical as a family car?
Yes it has more room but your wife and daughter will have to climb up and in.

Front facing child seats fit fine in the back seat. No problem here. ??Sounds like you are just bored and want something different. Good luck.

Mustang is a Mustang

I understand your dilemma, but a Mustang is a Mustang and a truck is a truck. Period. Good luck with your decision!

Save and get one of each. I traded a supercharged tundra for my gt500. I traded my gt500 for a lifted f150. Hard lessons learned and I regret trading my tundra in the first place. It was a stupid mistake that started a chain reaction that took a couple years to correct. I still have the f150 and now my 5.0. Happy now ha ha.

I did it the other way around. I sold my 04 f150 lariat, with a 7" lift, banks exhaust, edge Evolution programmer, 37 inch tires and 20" rims. Back when I was 18. And got my 03 cobra for it

Scientifically proven that there is an inverse relationship between the size of your lift kit and the size of your penis.

Just sayin...

Funny you say that. All my buddies have polaris razrs and ride at the local mud park every weekend. Theyve been badgering me to get one and i keep saying i have nothing to pull it with! Lol

The car seat only doesnt fit facing the rear, ive never tried facing the front my daughter is 10.5 months.

Not neccessarily a family vehicle i work out of town, heck i hardly ever get to drive the car as it is. 3 yrs old with 18k on it...

I greatly appreciate everyone chiming it!

from a vehicle thats kinda impractical for family and gets decent fuel mileage, to a vehicle thats just as impractical, but gets worst mileage, and why are you asking people on a forum, especially a Mustang forum, of course we're gonna be against the big old truck.........

Nice looking stang but I understand your dilemma. I traded my 2013 f-150screw for my stang for the gas mileage increase and lower insurance rate. Now the stang may become a truck again. (The room is starting to out weigh the mpg ) If you want a 3/4 ton truck the F-250 or dodge ram is the way to go.

I had a 2010 f150 fx2 ext cab that my wife now has and I traded her honda element for my mustang. Her one request was that I be able to fit a car seat in the mustang. I will find a way to make the mustang work....

Car seat fits. It's tough I know. Or just teach the baby to drive it!

I think he may need some pedal extensions. Other than that, he looks ready to race!

To OP; are you looking to sell privately or trade in to the dealer? I'm always scouting for good deals

Sell privately. I feel its pretty tastefully modified and i don't think the dealer would give many anywhere close to what its worth.

Sell my 5.0 for a lifted truck?

Currenty driving my dads F-250 V10 while mustang is up. For me speed has been above most of everything else. In the truck I cant drive how I am used to and its not as much fun. Now if his truck was fast it would be great. But I dont have to put anyone in the back seat of the mustang and last person back there got thrown around
