Weights on 2014 Rear Axle

I'm puzzled as to why there are weights on the rear axle of 14.
What are they for and when relocating the LCA's can they be removed?
Thanks for your help.
John

They are there to cancel out any harmonic vibrations/noise from the differential gears. Can you remove them? Sure. But they don't interfere with the relocation brackets.

I removed mine when I installed my relocation brackets. You'll never know they're gone.

Are you guys sure you don't have them? Maybe they don't come on the six banger cars?

There were some on my '13 5.0, and none on either my GFs 14 v6 auto, or her 14 v6 standard. They can be removed without issue though, never bothered putting mine back on after doing my LCAs. The BMr LCA brackets make provisions to keep them, but i just figured it wasnt worth the effort.

It may only be certain rear gear ratios that have them. I know a lot of 3.73s have gear whine from the factory. The weights could have been their attempt, albeit a poor one, at bandaging that issue.

No, my car has 3.15's and they were there. It's got to be a six banger thing.

Thanks guys I appreciate it.
Yes, mine has 3.73's and it does have a slight wine, just like my 97 Cobra did when I put 3.73's in.
