Just got the FRPP power pack...

...and I have to say, I'm not feeling a huge difference in acceleration versus stock. I have a base 2014 with the factory 3.31 gears and it really doesn't feel more rocket-like than it did before--but it does feel hugely more drivable, especially at low-to-medium speeds. Much more responsive to pedal input.

And the GT500 mufflers that come in the pack? Massive improvement. I've had the radio down or off on most of my driving since getting it installed yesterday, and it sounds excellent.

GT500 exhausts, Procal, K&N air filter, and a FRPP oil filter. Got it done with my 5000-mile oil change.

Probably because it's the procal. It's a very " moderate " tuner. So they say, I've never looked into or had one

The ProCal's "16+ hp and 60+ lb-ft of torque" is often misunderstood. From my understanding those are just curve gains, not peak gains. You're probably getting that "60 lb-ft of torque" just in the low to mid-end that's why it feels better in that area. That's only because the stock tune is very de-tuned too, the mufflers/tune/filter didn't add any power at all.

Yeah--for whatever reason I just expected the 60 lb-ft to be more apparent in the initial acceleration since that represents a big percentage increase in the low to mid powerband. Honestly, this should be the factory tune.

the 60ft lbs is only off idle. (1,000-2,800 rpm) in there.

you should give it 300 miles on the procal before beating the crap out of it. and you should definitely feel a difference down low. despite the negativity toward this tune, it runs hard on the track. it isnt the biggest dyno queen, and again, take a bunch of miles to adjust. so back to back dyno tests arent valid unless the frp tune was done first.

I think you're right, this package, should be how the car comes stock.

GT500 mufflers - perfect sound... deeper & louder but mostly on hard acceleration with no drone. And still tame enough to not wake up neighbors when returning from a late night out assuming you're coasting in & light on the throttle! Also, they could stop using the sound tube, as the exhaust is louder so if you want to hear it, you just roll down your windows! Shortly after installing GT500's, I removed the sound tube.

The tune - They should also give us that extra tire spinning torque stock... BUT fix the traction issues (suspension & wider stock tires), and tune up the Traction Control so it stops slipping better. Coming from another brand car, I can say its almost 3 generation old traction control systems (from 2005-2008 models) are better than Ford's "current" 2014 version.

Oil & Air filter - whatever, they don't do much. And people say the K&N stock airbox filter is worse than the paper?

If I recall correctly, the FRPP procal tune needs 91 octane min like my FRPP TrackCal tune for manuals. They dont come stock with the tune as it would ruin the ability to have many GT users running on 87 octane. I always use 93 and found my TrackCal tune does pull down low. Hes right I noticed it more later down the road then I did the first day. Ford does not do the 93 tune as you cant get 93 everywhere you drive and afraid users will put 91 in it.

Traction control note, I notice it applies brakes to stop slipping, and not cutting power. Once I broke loose at 35-45 on a downshift+Wot started moving sideways just a tad, and it hit the front breaks hard for a micro second and tossed me forward. Was hard on the car, 'cause it just went BAM. Anyone else have this?

Yes, it's 91+ with 93 recommended. Though I've been putting in 93 since the day I got the car anyway--I wasn't about to leave 30hp on the table.

I remember reading somewhere that the engine detunes to about 380hp on 87.

Edit: and I just looked it up...and it's only about a 15hp difference. My bad.

I'm just doing it because it came in the pack, but as far as I know they also sell the procal separately so it can't make that much of a difference.

OK on a 2013 Procal TrackKey Tune you get:
16 + Peak HPR, 6+ peak TRQ
You get 60Trq added down low where it counts on the Torque curve

NUff Said for folks to FIgger' out

And the FRPP procal is the same minus lopey idle, pit speed control, and launch control.
