Smile 2014 Mustang GT/CS Guidance

Hello,

I picked up a 2014 Mustang GT/CS 6 Speed with 8100 miles on it in October. Since then i have added about 1200 miles or so. I have added a JLT Cold Air Intake and a 93 Bama Racing Tune as well. Now one thing I should've asked is when the car last had an oil change. Currently the Oil Life on in reflects 25%. I was reading the Manual and with it, it stated that the car basically tells you when it needs an oil change which could be up to 10,000 miles. The car is simply driven like mustang should be(AVG 16-18 MPG) but it is only driven on weekends since i use my little Honda Civic as my daily commuter. So it comes down to, how often do you guys recommend doing the oil change?. (gonna pick up the oil separator this weekend too). Thanks in advance.

Since the Oil life remains at 25% now im thinking im just gonna wait till it hits 10k on the odometer and start fresh from there. Thanks for the quick reply. Secondary question what would be the best recommendation for axel backs? Im thinking the Borla Atak but they are pretty pricy so i might have to wait till i save up for them.

Depends if your planning on future modifications such as longtubes and x pipe, if so...

I can tell you from experience to stay away from ..
- Borla ATAK
- Roush Axlebacks

Every other one is decent and all personal preference.

You don't want to shoot yourself in the foot like trevor and I did and get a loud axle back and then be scratching your head trying to figure our what to do when you get an o/r midpipe. So keep that in mind if you are going to go long tubes and o/r mid pipe have a mellower axle back for now

05 Gt Premium Performance White, flowmaster outlaws, Jlt Series 3, Bama 91r tune

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with GT 500 mufflers. Especially, the quad tip ones.

Check with the dealership you bought it from they should have changed the oil when they got it. They should also have the service record from time when they got the car showing what service they did when the vehicle got to their dealership. I am a salesman at at a dealership all dealerships have to do used vehicle inspection to make sure the car passes inspection for safety regulations when they do this they change the oil of the vehicle. Sometimes the mechanics forget to reset the oil life which is why it shows only 25 percent. Sorry for the long reply

I change new cars/trucks first time at 3k, then do 5K and tire rot after that. Its an oil change, no need to skimp on $39 on a 35-40K car. Ford and the rest get EPA points on making it possible to go to 10k, but its only oil change it.

The oil separator should be beneficial to this concern. I am currently running the Flowmaster outlaw series axel backs, I love their sound it's not too much and it's mean. But, as mentioned earlier, I'm slightly concerned with the volume whenever I put the o/r x pipe on. One thing I would recommend because I wish I would have done is get the full catback(almost as much as I regret not getting quad tips. It gives a subtle change in tone that is desirable and It may not seem necessary now but later whenever you start messing with the mid pipe and headers you'll thank yourself because you don't have thousands of dollars spent on this awesome exhaust system only to meet up with the stock over axel pipes at the back. This is just what I wish I would have done. Oh well, live and learn.

Where's a good place where I could get the quad tip? I'm also interested in an x pipe. Tax season is coming lol
