Tires 275/40-18

Hey guys! During Black Friday I was able to score some very nice looking rims! I've been looking online for some tires to go along with the rims. I'm looking for any kind of tires that will fit nothing fancy. Need all 4 and I'm not trying to break the bank! Looking to spend less than $650 for a set of 4 if possible? I've seen a nice set on eBay around that price range. Does anyone know any other sources online? Or if anyone has a pair I'm looking for that will be swell too!

Hmm I bought them off of AM. Towards the summery of the item it said 275/40-18 tires recommended?

18" rims. If you want cheap go on to tire rack and look at sumitomo. Cheap in price and decent for daily driving. Tires for under $600 is pretty low and not to many options.

It should be a number like 18x8 or 18x9 or 18x10.

I don't mean this to be a stab, but how do you buy something expensive like wheels and not even know the specific size?

Tires 275/40-18

Ur pretty much strapped to a bed *** end up when u do an impulse buy like a set of rims. Do u know if it'll fit? U said its from AM? Then that's ur saving grace as its most likely gonna fit. But an 04-09 mustang runs a different offset than a 10-14 so... We'll see.

You are the second guy to post a thread today with an impulse buy. Unless ur the same dude...

Either way good job........ 👏

Those wheels may not fit. They look like Bullits meant for a 99-04 car.

Just looked it up, it keeps telling me that the recommended tire size is 275/40-18, I've been looking online and have been able to find tires for that size. I'm not exactly sure if I need any more information? Figured any tire that can fit a 18 inch and has the required 275 width?

Got the all four rims for $303, first time messing with rims and tires. Just trying to make my mustang stand out and look sick.

Offset. That's the only thing that matters in terms of whether the rims would fit on your car or not.

Not the tires unless you go like a 65 series on an 18 inch rim lol

So I guess the rims that I bought are only for rear placement? Could I still use all 4 rims or am I pretty much screwed and need new rims?

A 255 is goig to fit flush on a 9" rim, 275 fits flush on a 9.5, thats what i'm running.

You need to consider several things:
1. Get tires that are the same height as stock unless you plan on tuning for the difference.
Tire Height Calculator - Wallace Racing
Stock tire height is right about 27.25 it looks like

2. Traction. The stock 235s are virtually useless, but why youd bother spending the money on something that isnt even remotely better (on a 420 hp car no less...) is completely beyond me. Why waste the money on crappy tires that arent going to hook that you're going to hate forever because you cheaped out? Cheap tires last forever because they're rock hard and just meant to drive forever, not have any sort of traction.

Edit* Looks like they wont work anyways ^^ Just send them back and do it right this time ...

Yeah looks like either way you should return them. 8 inch rims is nothing for the rear. It's practically skinnies.

And unless people on here give you advice and mention offset don't even bother listening to them.

Tires 275/40-18

Staggered set

8.5-9" up front with 255 or 265 with +42 to 45mm offset

10-11" in the back with 285-315 with +50 to 55mm offset

The wider the rim the slightly more offset you may need cuz the rims are wider so there's more to each side off the centerline.

Thank you! Do you know if there are any package deals like these online? That come with the tire already set on the rims?
